Elizabeth Arden perfume / Red Door 🤢

I was looking for a perfume I bought in 2004 - I remember the scent but not the name, I thought maybe it was Elizabeth Arden so I went looking online to spark my memory.
Then I found Red Door and I knew it was completely different than the one I was searching but I decided to buy because I loved the bottle and colour (I know) and the reviews were good.

I hate it. It reminds me of Joop which makesx me sick. Can’t return. Wish I could keep for decorative reasons but I’m a minimalist so it will drive me crazy despite liking the look of it.
Will probably give it to somebody. It was only £20.99.

Anyone here had a perfume grow on them despite not liking it at first?

and

Any ideas which Elizabeth Arden I’m looking for? It is very light and fresh, perfect for spring / summer and I think light green, round bottle.

Green tea

Mairzydotes · 14/04/2024 10:32

Was it Donna Karen / Dkny and the apple shaped bottle?

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea is in a rectangular bottle. Bodycare sell tiny bottles for less than a fiver, I bought one myself.

Elizabeth Arden do Sunflowers, which was popular and Blue Grass, which my gran wore .

5th Avenue? It's one of my favourites but very old school. Musky yet floral, warming fragrance. It gorgeous.

Red Door is AWFUL!
Green tea is quite a fresh and citrusy sort of smell

My mum wore Blue Grass. I rather like it.

I suspect Green Tea is the one you want.

ASighMadeOfStone · 14/04/2024 11:48

Agree it will be Green Tea which has been in various packaging over the years, generally in a long, rounded edged bottle.

Red Door is a late 80s powerhouse.

Deathraystare · 19/04/2024 13:31

I love Blue Grass! I also used to like Green Tea but wore it so much I am sickened by it!

isthismylifenow · 19/04/2024 20:31

I was going to say Pretty, and then you said green bottle.

There are loads of Green Tea flankers now too, and also White Tea.

White Tea Rose is my favorite of these, and the original Green Tea, which I think is the one you are thinking of. The EA consultant told me to spray it on sore muscles and it's supposed to help ease them. I have not tried it, and can't test the theory atm as my muscles all seem OK. (if anyone has sore muscles and some Green Tea, any chance you could test the theory?)

Red Door is awful I agree. But there is a new one out now in a pink bottle which is nicer. Think it's called Red Door Revealed.

I am sure you could sell the Red Door though. It's a classic and I'm sure it wouldn't still be around if people weren't buying it.

Green Tea is gorgeous.

Blueuggboots · 19/04/2024 20:51

Oh yes, red door is VILE!!!

cheeseandketchupsandwich · 19/04/2024 20:58

I love red door 😂

WhatTheFuk · 19/04/2024 21:03

My mum wore Red Door, so it's forever associated with old ladies for me!

spuddy4 · 19/04/2024 21:09

Green tea and white tea are lovely.

In answer to your other question I once purchased black opium because it was on offer in boots and I found it overbearing and sickly. Learned my lesson to test before buying after that and I still have at least half the bottle.

Gymnopedie · 19/04/2024 21:18

Red Door on me smells like I've doused myself in fly spray.

mdinbc · 19/04/2024 22:08

I'm currently wearing Green Tea! I wore it years ago, then switched to versions of White Tea, but this year bought the Green. It is nice and fresh. I've been wearing these as my summer fragrance for years and years. In the winter I'll do something a bit richer.

mdinbc · 19/04/2024 22:14

O de Lancome is similar shape bottle to EA Green Tea, and is nice an fresh for summer as well.

JenniferBooth · 19/04/2024 22:32

The worst scent ive smelt is the new Ted Baker body spray Peony and Camellia It stinks, its bloody disgusting. Smells like rotting folliage

They used to do some lovely ones nicely presented in pretty containers like Floral Bliss, Opulent Crush , Raspberry and Orange Blossom. The new shit smells and looks cheap but is the same price. Opulent Crush smelt like it could have been an expensive perfume

flatsevenup · 19/04/2024 22:50

I love Red Door Blush

CoolShoeshine · 19/04/2024 23:12

Fifth Avenue is bloody lovely, probably the nicest perfume I’ve ever had. My mum used to wear blue grass and that was gorgeous too.
red door is disgusting though

TheFormidableMrsC · 19/04/2024 23:32

Stick it on eBay or Vinted. Somebody will buy it.

tooface · 09/11/2024 00:31

The reformulation isnt a patch on the original with the curved cap.

My late mum wore red door and a single big spritz lasted all day no top up needed.

Its awful now and weak.
