Shoes for knee length dresses

Recently bought a knee length dress from vinted, then realised the season is changing and I have no idea what shoes to wear with it. Hoping to wear to work so would need to be smart casual, and probably with tights too. I haven’t worn shoes for years as usually go for boots/trainers then sandals! Thanks

Loafers?

Ballet pumps? Or I’ll be in boots a while yet.

Agreed. about 90% of my shoes, for just about everything, are from Pretty Ballerina.

Heels and knee length dresses look a bit odd to me.

What style of knee length dress? Oversize linen sack, jersey wrap, bodycon, tea dress...?

I came on to ask the exact same question!

I've got a jersey knee length wrap dress which I wear with flip flops in summer but could wear with heeled sandals to posh it up. But I'm going to a funeral and think it could be a good dress to wear (it's navy) but literally no idea on shoes...

I'm tall with wide size 8 feet which doesn't help! Don't necessarily need wide fitting shoes, but just more of a rounded toe than pointy.

Or I need to go dress shopping again but the shoes issue will still come up - I've got boots, trainers, Birkenstocks or wedding sandals!

It’s a wrap style dress.

For work, I'd wear brogues or similar as I need lace ups. Loafers could be good too.

I don't think it's the style as such but more the material. I'm not personally keen on brogues or loafers with dresses but they can be ok with heavier materials. Although having said that, flat laced up ankle boots are fine with lighter materials.

Thank you, I am useless! Dress is polyester with elastine, the fabric has a crinkle to it.

I wear dresses to work, wrap style, skater shape and a couple of shift type shapes. I wear a mid heel t-bar or court with a strap in spring and summer.
Heeled boots sometimes in winter

I'm a teacher so prefer the security of a shoe with a strap!

These are my current ones. I also have a smiliar navy pair to wear with navy dresses and tights.

These were both very cheap but still wearing well.
