New career, new wardrobe - advice please!

After 15 years of wearing uniform in the NHS I’m starting a completely new career in May.

All very exciting and positive, but I have absolutely no idea where to buy work clothes beyond good old m&s.

I’m very almost 40, a size 12 and 5’8”. My new job has a “professional” dress code - ie. suits or nice dresses with jacket over type style.

Any advice on shops/brands would be great. Thank you!

Congratulations, hope all goes well with your new career!

It may be worth taking a look at: Arket, Sezane, Reiss, Massimo Dutti, Cos

I like Brand Alley for bargains.

Perhaps book a free appointment with John Lewis:

This video is quite old, but gives links to pieces that could make up a work capsule wardrobe:

Congratulations!

The post above covers a good deal of ground. I’d only add that it’s worthwhile taking a regular look at

as they’re really good at picking out some of the best items available at any price point, and introducing you to brands you may not be familiar with.
