Legs. Feet. Toe nails. End of winter horror

Today is lovely and warm so I've been wearing a pair of floaty trousers and flip flops as I've been at home working and pottering.
I've just brought a drink into the garden and am sitting on the back step. Feeling all content with impending weekend and spring.
Until I glanced down. My legs which have been left hairy over winter (to help insulate me and save in heating bills) are quite frankly not doing what the rest of my hair is and thinning with menopause.
My toenails are shocking. Need a good pedicure and some colour.
My toes are hairy. The skin on my heels looks like it hasn't seen a moisturiser ever.

I was going to parkrun in shorts tomorrow so I better go and lock myself in the bathroom and give me legs some attention or I'll be tripping over the hair.

Anyone else?

PS this is lighthearted. I don't really care (much!) but will sort myself out before we get proper decent weather 😆

I hear ya! It happens to me every year; I get all comfy covered up, then it seems to suddenly get warm and I am never summer ready. Might actually book my nail lady to come and sort my trotters out! Must also lose half a stone.

No, I am done with all of that. I wear long dresses, and closed toe sandals, or pumps in the summer. I would rather spend my energy on other things, than shaving, and painting my nails. I was a lot more conformist in my younger days though!

Oh definitely get this! I always have a leg wax and pedicure in April. It marks the end of winter for me

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 13/04/2024 09:44

Yep me too, currently trying to summon the energy/motivation to shave my legs 😕

Darklane · 13/04/2024 10:43

Used to be like this but since leaving menopause behind all the hair on my legs has miraculously disappeared so there is hope! Now just the feet to contend with.
Just wish I could say the same for the chin hairs!

I shave all year round, otherwise I get unbearably itchy.

It’s a pain.

This thread made me look at my feet. I think they're ok. Might need a bit of a file around the heel. My skin is very dry so they don't go untended all winter, they have frequent doses of nivea blue tub and socks at night!
