I like the dove one!

MaMisled · 09/04/2024 21:01

Definitely the Dove one!

Weloveflowerss · 09/04/2024 21:08

Thanks, there’s so many on Amazon which one is it?

Pretty sure they all streak unless applied well. Nothing is streak proof if it's not really really well spread and rubbed in

enjoyingscience · 09/04/2024 22:17

Bondi sands gradual tanner is nice, but I still have to rub it in with a mitt and be pretty careful or it streaks - I think they all do.

RagzRebooted · 09/04/2024 22:17

I've used them all (also pale) and I always tend to end up with patchy bits, even if I prep well. Every year I seem to convince myself I've finally acquired the ability to apply fake tan (or gradual tanning moisturiser) and every year I prove myself wrong.

oopsiedaisie1001 · 09/04/2024 22:19

Bondi sands pure self tan foaming water (with a mit) is my absolute go to. Prep well and exfoliate the day before, moisturise every day (with and without tan).

Fushia123 · 09/04/2024 22:20

I use the Dove gradual lotion but mix it up on my hand with my usual moisture cream for arms and legs.

anon199900 · 09/04/2024 22:21

St tropez - it’s retro but still the best in my opinion. I am pale and have tried lots.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 09/04/2024 23:15

I like the Dove one too - but I might take more care with it if I was baring huge swathes of flesh.

LunaNorth · 09/04/2024 23:17

Il Makiage is excellent. I’m absolutely corpse-coloured, and shit at applying fake tan, but for once I had success. Dead easy to apply, not orange, lasted well, no streaks, faded fairly evenly.

It’s expensive, though.

idontlikealdi · 09/04/2024 23:18

Dove gradual tan and alternate with normal moisturiser

Corpse-coloured! This is my new description of me now.

Bondi sands with a mit. I’ve never had streaking. The only issue I have is bedtime and I forget and cross my legs!

Blondiney · 09/04/2024 23:21

Pale is in, I have just decreed it so!

MessyNeate · 09/04/2024 23:38

Also the dove gradual tan. Medium gold coloured bottle. I've recently started using it, alternate between that and normal moisturiser

Fizzadora · 09/04/2024 23:50

Dove medium applied with a mitt for me and I am ginger. I actually use it on my face every 3-4 days through winter so I don't look quite so corpse like.

Menopants · 09/04/2024 23:54

As an blue skinned person I recommend isle of paradise drops. You put them in your body lotion and you can control the amount of oranging.

gano · 09/04/2024 23:59

Another recommendation for the dove one. I prefer the gradual mousse format, as it's not as sticky and never ever streaks on me.

ETgo · 10/04/2024 00:33

I would always recommend the Bondi Sands gradual tanning lotion - tinted skin perfector.
It is amazing - it is chocolate brown when you put it on and actually smells really nice.

The thing that made the most difference was to use a tanning brush! It honestly gives me the best result and is so easy to use. If I use this twice a week I have a lovely colour.

Can't work out how to link items but here's a photo of what I use (literally just tanned myself so excuse the brush being messy)

I use Vita Liberta tanning wipes, really easy to use and smell lovely. Can be pricey but I got some from vinted for a fiver. Tan lasts for ages as well.

Noimaginationforaun · 10/04/2024 04:02

I use Isle of Paradise Light tanning foam. It goes on with a colour so you can see bits you’ve missed. Only one I’ve managed to not mess up!

enjoyingscience · 10/04/2024 12:27

Can I ask a stupid question about tanning drops @Menopants please?

when it says use a few drops in your usual moisturiser, is that for your whole body, or for every handful of moisturiser? Do you need to mix up a whole
body worth before you start?

juniorspesh · 10/04/2024 12:36

Vita Liberata gradual. Believable buildable colour, easy to apply, and doesn't make you smell of biscuits.

I wasn't that poster, but I also use drops. I use a body lotion with a pump and work out the ratio, i.e. 1 pump of lotion to three drops of tan (or similar). I mix up enough for one leg at a time, then another batch to do both arms/shoulders. It might take a bit trial and error to work out the correct ratio for you.

Just got coco and Eve medium and a tanning brush. Never been a massive fake tanner but really impressed with the colour and streak free (I think it was the brush)
