I have an appointment in a few weeks for a balayage on my natural colour brown hair. It's a very light brown hair. I am looking for a vivid colour to be worked into my hair. My hair will have to be lightened or bleached for my hair to take the vivid colour.
I never lightened or bleached my hair before.
I am watching videos online of horror stories of hair breaking off. Also reading comments on forums of horror stories.
I am getting nervous now to be honest. But getting a bold vivid in my hair is something that I really want to do.
I got a trim a few weeks ago. I am following a haircare regime for over a year and my hair is in a good place right now too. Except for mt front hair towards the ends. It looks thin and I would be anxious about that fine hair.
I had thin hair for a long time from years of abusing my hair (going to bed with wet hair, not using comditioner, heat styling, stress, sickness).
I turned all that around and my hair looks so much more better now. I am caring for my hair better.
I am beginning to get nervous of my hair appointment now because it will be my first time getting my hair worked with a lightening or bleaching service.
I am wondering if there's anything I can do to prep my hair before the appointment.
I read online to not wash your hair before so I am planning on washing my hair two days before the appointment and leaving my hair without styling products like hairspray.
I am doing weakly hair masks since last autumn and I think that really helped my hair.
Should I be using olaplex or a different bond treatment at home in the weeks before my appointment to help my hair through the lightening process?
How about a detox or clarifying shampoo? Should I get one of those and use that before my appointment?
I really want to get a vivid in my hair and I want to give my hair every chance it has to get through the next steps I want to take my hair.
This is a screenshot from the internet that displays my natural hair colour very well and the vivid that I would like to get.
