Still have larger than required thighs, bum and as it was my 3rd child quite a shockingly 'still pregnant' looking belly -need some new clothes very urgently - going away on thursday and have very little time to shop and am rubbish at shopping anyway - help for the pear shaped out there?

maybe high waisted so keep belly tucked in with boot flare which will give the impression of leaner thighs.

bethoo · 29/03/2008 12:50

and do not forget the heels which will elongate your legs too.

have you seen any on the high street that you can recommend?

have not been out recently due to being preggers so do not want to get depressed! . i suppose it depends on how much you want to spend and if you are gong t be the size you are for a while. i think NEXT would be a good bet for some good jeans though i personally like River Island as some of their jeans are quite roomy. not M&S or any shops similar to that. TK Maxx may have some but you really have to rummage to find what you are looking for so i would try NEXT first and there is a sale on at the moment. hth

I would say more high waisted too, with a wide leg. Asda have them, so do Uniqlo , and so do Dorothy Perkins.

I just bought my normal jeans, but 2 sizes bigger. Long tops to cover doughy overhang.

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2008 14:37

next are quiyte generous sizes

i think ma and s have high waisted ones i borrowed some from a friend last week in an emergency and was shocked at how high they were so might suit for this

I bought from Land's End online recently but I don't know if they would deliver in time for you.

www1.landsend.co.uk/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prmenbr=361&prrfnbr=2486510&mdiv=wm&cat_level= prod&cgrfnbr=51219&cat_parent=51219&fromsearch=

Land's End are quite frumpy styling, middle-age, I think, but I like them because they are so soft and stretchy, comfortable. Bootleg, not high-waist but not low, flattering Antique Dark Indigo.

thank you thank you - doughy overhand sounds familiar - always good when lifting up t-shirt subtly to feed the baby- find a Primark boob tube round the belly hides it away but don't always remember to put it on before going out.
will try next - no Uniqlo round here unfortunately

topshop high waisted flared leg are what you need. i bought a pair 3 weeks after my baby born and they were fab for holding in flabby tum and so flattering on hips and thighs.

got so many compliments on losing baby weight so fast!! (really my c/s overhang was just tucked in!!)

personally i find next jeans mumsy and think topshop more with it but that may just be me..........
