Low cut dress dilemma

YouAndMeAndThem · 01/04/2024 17:44

I have this dress for a wedding in July.

I love it but I'm really large of chest, and it's quite inappropriate the amount of breast on show! I always have this issue!!

The fabric is really sheer so pinning it, I worry, won't be sturdy enough. Anyone got any ideas?

In cream though, not black

Can you just put a few stitches into the seams? If it's too sheer to pin, you should be able to pop a few stitches in every cm or so along the seam on the V until it's comfortable? That's my go to!

A lacy camisole or sew a triangle of lace to raise the neckline.

Or an ivory silk camisole.

I have this issue too, I either wear a camisole with a straight neckline to cover my cleavage (or at least some of it), I've also been looking at those lacy coverups too.

That dress turns up often on here under various names, Yumi, Urban Touch, Silk Fred. Tbh, I think you'll either have to wear it as it is or find another dress.

It's all subjective but "modesty panels" to me just look odd and draw attention to the fact you (general you) weren't comfortable with the dress.

I haven't a clue about fashion, but love the threads on this board, so bear with me.

I've seen many wedding dresses that have plunging Vs but have a flesh coloured sheer panel that looks like skin where the cleavage would be. I often do a double take as it looks so natural. Can you buy them or are they part of the dress design?

Now maybe that's what others are recommending with the boob tube type things, if so ban me from the thread!

I know what you mean. Skaters, ballerinas and opera singers use it too for low cut costumes.
