I'm disillusioned with jeans right now. I feel scruffy and look ungainly.

Size 16-18 thick thighs and legs, flobby large stomach but defined waist

Skinny are ok but tight and unflattering in the belly/ fupa. and mom are too loose and look scruffy.

What jeans do you wear and how do you wear them? Shoes/ tops?

I have a these mom -M&S (ankle grazer too short for winter and too loose) / hush mom/ Asda mom / f &f mom sculpt (best but gone funny)

Skinny I have new look scultp in black and Tesco F&F contour.

Most of these are from vinted.

I wear Good American. They are expensive but not compared to the money I've wasted on jeans over time. They are size inclusive and have a range of styles.

I've bought new but actually just also got a pair on Vinted for £20

thedendrochronologist · 01/04/2024 17:24

Wow they look incredible - what the sizing like? Theres a size 16 classic in vinted new for £30!

Think it might be too small?

The sizing used to be consistent but now varies between style. It's worth it at £30 then resell if no good? Better than full price!

I spotted some reduced Good American jeans at my local Next Outlet. They also had Gap jeans. If you have one near you it could be worth a look.

I've just got boyfriend from M&S which I really like. Maybe worth trying? Or I'd go for straight or slim from M&S or Next own brand.

I mean is the 16 a uk 16?

Whats a fupa?

ManchesterBeatrice · 01/04/2024 18:13

Oh 😳 googled it

Jelliclecats · 01/04/2024 18:28

Your body shape sounds identical to mine. I’ve recently managed to get down to a size 12 from 18 and all the way through the most flattering/comfortable have been Land’s End ones with some stretch or the M&S Magic ones.

thedendrochronologist · 01/04/2024 18:52

@Jelliclecats ah ha! At last - I no longer feel that I am alone in my weird shaped body.

I will have a look
