I want to go to (a) ball

I really want to go somewhere fancy and get dolled up, but I've nowhere to go. I want to get super dressed up as if I'm at the Oscars or even a royal wedding. I'm talking top tier fanciness.

Im dreaming of fluffy pink ballgown, tiara, stunning jewellery and above the elbow gloves, the works, but I've no ball or even a wedding to go to.

Would anyone else like to go to a non existent (or existing!) event and share your hypothetical or real style ideas?

There are sometimes charity balls you can buy tickets for. I know someone who went to one at Blackpool.

If I were to go to one I'd either have to wear a long dress I'd already worn to some ones wedding or hypothetically speaking I'd go 70s style like Margot Leadbetter from The Good Life.

Charity balls all over the place. We decided we were doing one this year so we can get frocked up. Search google and facebook for them.

We have a fireman's ball every year here, people get really dressed up raising money for various charities. Otherwise book a Cunard cruise, some people really go to town on them, we're talking full on ballroom outfits. Or join a choir that doesn't do black, we do coloured gowns at Christmas. I love getting dressed up.

Can I come too please? I need to get a wedding guest outfit and realised that I've not been to a social event since before covid. Wearing anything that isn't jeans and a t-shirt seems wrong now and I'm so over it.

If you could choose somewhere I can wear this please, I'll send you the ticket money, er, later 😉
