Hello. I’d love to start swimming again but I need a new swimsuit.
I’m short and fat with big boobs and an apple shape - is there anything out there that’s comfortable?

TIA for any recommendations.

Bravissimo also sell swimsuits. Might be worth a look.

I am short with big boobs and unfortunately I am no longer slim.
I have ordered numerous cup sized swimsuits in recent months but they are all too long in the body!
Best I have found so far is a Fantasie one and the Speedo ones sold on Bravissimo are also not too bad. I am thinking tankini is the way to go but they tend to flap about when you actually swim. It’s a nighttime being short with big boobs! Good luck!

Jovehansson · 28/03/2024 13:06

I am 5ft 2 btw

Jovehansson · 28/03/2024 13:08

If you have a bigger bust this doesn't cut it..you need proper cup sizes...I ordered this one..bust way too small

TheYoungestSibling · 28/03/2024 13:34

I've bought two costumes recently, one from Decathlon and one from JD Williams. Both are true to size and very comfortable while also feeling secure in the water. Too early to say how the fabric holds up against chlorine but I rinse off under the shower after my swim, then rinse in cold water at home and line dry.

I’m short, size 14 and have a belly that bothers me. I like Lands’End for swimsuits.

NannyGythaOgg · 28/03/2024 16:14

Something like this

Separates so no problem with length of body and 'blouson' style so doesn't float up but does disguise any lumps and bumps

I got a couple from Deakin and Blue. They’re pretty good.

Barnabyted · 28/03/2024 16:41

I’m another one that would recommend Fantasie swimwear. Their cup sized swimsuits are comfortable, come in a range of styles and colours and fit really well.

LadyWiddiothethird · 28/03/2024 18:21

I swim daily, tried all types of swimsuits. The best ones are from Asda, beats the expensive ones hands down and I have bought many different ones over the years.

I completely agree Lady, I bought this one a few weeks ago and am really, really pleased with it - worth a try OP? I too am short with big boobs but there is room in the size 14 for my 34Gs so bigger sizes likely to work for most cup sizes I imagine? The coloured piping creates more of a waist than I have too, so I find it really flattering.

Absolute bargain for £14.

Tbh those asda ones did used to be my go to...but I am a lot older now and the support isn't enough anymore!

mrschocolatte · 28/03/2024 23:47

I would recommend the Speedo Sculpture Watergem suit. Really durable and flattering to boot!

ZenNudist · 29/03/2024 00:30

I don't have huge boobs (34D) but I am 5'3" and apple shape. I wear zoggs swimsuits. They stand up to the chlorine far better than speedo. I prefer a racer back but they have more supportive ones.

I do think that for everyday swimming rather than holiday swimming then you want something that's going to wash well and not be restrictive or truss you up. Cup size swimsuits are all very well but not ideal for swimming for fitness.

Not being funny but I'm short n curvy and just bought 2 lovely swimsuits from Fatface

SnowFrogJelly · 29/03/2024 00:46

Sorry I meant White Stuff!

Etoile12345 · 29/03/2024 01:52

I am really out of shape at the moment and was feeling a bit gross in a swimming costume but I stumbled across this gem in Sainsbury's. It's so flattering and I feel great in it. Even went back and got it in the pink too because I think it's so nice. Was genuinely impressed with the range of swimwear available too.

I have this and I love it. I have ample boobs and belly

THEDEACON · 29/03/2024 19:55

Snag do swimsuits and they currently have a sale

Justsewsew · 29/03/2024 20:00

I'm a size 14/16, 34gg, 5ft tall. I always buy tankinis as full swimsuits are always too long in the body. Elomi and fantasie are good brands with proper bra sizes. The wacoal bra factory shop does some cracking discounts
