Don't know if link will work - but do you think all this maternity clothing is shit, or is some OK?

S'alright for the price (and if you go a bundle on rice sacks)

That purple dress is the best but then again not the kind of thing suitable for a trip down the Post Offfice eh?

MrsBadger · 28/03/2008 10:25

I found the Next stuff generally quite nice but none of their tops went over my bump at term - none of them. And my bump wasn't huge either.

Check the waistbands on the trousers - I found the best ones are either the huge ones that come right up to your armpits or the 'roll top' ones you ca fold up or down.

From the page you linked to I'd get one pair of crops and the grey 'boarder' trousers, and possibly a dress if I knew I had an occasion on the horizon

non-mat tunic tops from eg Primark etc are easy to get all summer.

MrsBadger · 28/03/2008 10:27

oh if not crops I'd just get the grey boarders

buying in sales is good as you get so fed up of the same three pairs of trous

Slouchy · 28/03/2008 10:27

Black jacket is a BARGAIN esp if you work.

MOst things OK but if you hate cropped trews you might be a bit limited...

moondog · 28/03/2008 10:29

Maternity gear in New Look is surprisingly nice in a sort of earth mother type way.
Better than the cropped trousers which are just begging for a matching calf tattoo and a Bacardi Breezer.

MamaG · 28/03/2008 10:29

We may have a big family party in teh summer, but we may not - family politics [rolls eyes]. Good idea about getting primark tops etc to see through summer.

I did consider the white boarders and possibly the "Chambray roll jeans" - do you think they will roll DOWN to be full length though? Also, is chambray a bit flimsy/cottony rtaher than denimy? May be more comfortable in later stages

Slouchy, yhes the jacket is a bargain, but I usually just wear my normal jackets and don't fasten them, when pg! Am a lawyer, so need to look smart so have plenty of suits.

I agree mrsB, thats why I thought I could stock up very cheaply now (also I have a £50 Next voucher in my purse!) as by the time I gave birth to my other two DC, I was ready to burn all my maternity clothes! Have actually given EVERYTHING away, so need to start again from scratch.

H & M maternity was ok

Dotty P's ok for work stuff - i got a black stretch jersey dress from there which i threw my regular jackets over so i looked presentable

also invested in a FAB white shirt to wear with black trews for work - i wore it to death (got it in the USA but am sure you could find one here)

RubySlippers · 28/03/2008 10:35

have a look here for white shirts etc

MrsBadger · 28/03/2008 10:37

I think the chambray jeans will roll down - def worth a punt

MamaG · 28/03/2008 10:37

Thanks ruby
