FAT FACE - No not you, the clothes

I am very taken with some of the things in their latest catalogue, but last time I bought anything from them must be about 8/9 years ago and I wasn't that impressed with the quality.

Does anyone have any more recent experience?

If I need a size 8/10 in Next (which I know comes up very big) and 10 at Boden what will I need at Fat Face?

Any opinions on their shoes?

I LOVE Fat Face! Have bought lots of tops and cords from there. Generally find their sizes generous. I am normally a 12 and definetly only need a 10 there. No experience of shoes!

everything is grey and sludgy

and I look dreadful in it

BeauLocks · 28/03/2008 10:17

Fat Face comes up big. Go one size smaller.

snowleopard · 28/03/2008 10:20

I have found the quality OK, but I don't like a lot of the stuff - just sometimes find the odd thing I love. The things I do have have washed and lasted well.

lizandlulu · 28/03/2008 10:22

i love fat face stuff too. i have found it well made, maybe just a tad expensive, but i love love love it!

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/03/2008 10:24

I like some of the things, but they can look a bit dreary altogether, plus shoes/boots clumpy...White Stuff much better all round imo

Cappuccino · 28/03/2008 10:25

white stuff looks lovely and colourful

Earthymama · 28/03/2008 10:25

I love Fat Face clothes...but only buy in the sales cos I'm too tight to pay full price.

The quality is ok, the style is good for me..I'm working at home with small children so like to look casual but as though I've made a bit of an effort.

The sizes are generous and I find the clothes comfortable...I'm curvy and hate my boobs being squashed!!

It all washes welltoo...so I guess that's a recommendation from me

Cappuccino · 28/03/2008 10:26

having said that I bought a fat face skirt about 4 years ago and I still love it, and it still looks good, and hasn't dated

but it is coloured, and not like the stuff they have in now

[they don't make em like that anymore emoticon]

Whizzz · 28/03/2008 10:27

I love Fat Face (wearing a FF top right now!). I rarelt buy anything full price though as I do think they are expensive. We are lucky to have a FF discount shop not far away. I find that the stuff lasts & washes well.

cmotdibbler · 28/03/2008 10:32

I bought a dress there the other week (short sleeve, v neck, knee length, biscuit with cornflower blue print), and am very pleased with it. Good quality, looks great.

A friend buys loads of stuff from there, and finds it to really last

Lucycat · 28/03/2008 10:36

I like Fat face too but it can be very hit and miss with the designs and colours

I ahve a lovely fleece lined green cardigan - wool outside iykwim that is fab and everyone comments on it.

I too visit the outlet store that Whizzz goes to

although I did brave the Wilmslow store on Boxing Day for their sale and managed to bag lots of stuff from the Alderley Edge lot

Also agree about their sizing, I neeed a size smaller in tops and sometimes 2 sizes smaller in bottms!

MrsBadger · 28/03/2008 10:39

oh Capp

did your Uttam stuff arrive? was it any good?

Cappuccino · 28/03/2008 10:46

MrsB most of it went back since it made me look like a trifle

but I did keep a gorgeous dress and skirt HOWEVER they are summery and I can't wear them for ages

Cappuccino · 28/03/2008 10:48

I have just started a style and beauty thread MrsB it would be nice to see you on it

after all it is your niche

TheFallenMadonna · 28/03/2008 10:50

Their tops tend to be short. Boden-short.

perpetualworrier · 28/03/2008 11:26

I thought the vote was going to be split to begin with, but it seems to have come out in favour in the end. I can see I'm just going to have to order something and see. Will also have a look at white stuff. Thanks everyone.

Sorry to resurrect this topic but how do Fat Face and White Stuff measure up for petite people (5 feet)?

There are a few nice things in their sales at the moment but I'm thinking they'll probably be too long.

Anyone?
