Tretinoin - burnt eyelids?

NCForQuestions · 26/03/2024 08:23

Like a complete twonk, I've put my Dermatica cream too close to my eyes this week. The mix is tret 0.05% / hydroquinone 4%.

I didn't realise it can migrate around the face, so I obviously spread it when adding moisturising cream 20mins after application as instructed.

It's stings, it looks a lot dryer than it is, it's a bit inflamed and a deep burgundy red...

Apart from not using the tret for a few days and never again near the eyes, how do I fix this?

Anyone else managed it?!

It happens. Just ignore it, it will be all good again in a couple of days. I do this accidentally all the time!

It happens… try some Vaseline for a few days. Avoid the entire orbital area with the Dermatica.

Thanks, it makes me feel a bit better! I really need it gone by Thursday as we're out for a posh dinner! 😂

I've got exactly this right now - it stings like a bastard and I've got an interview today.

NCForQuestions · 26/03/2024 10:19

Ah shit @idontlikealdi Good luck with the interview!

I think I'll keep my glasses on this week and hide my eyes a bit more than with contact lenses....

Cicaplast on it - the La Roche Posay Baume one. It heals all!! For future ref I put a bit of moisturiser (cicaplast or the weleda skin food) round my eyes before my tret as I had this problem too and the dermatologist told me that it will protect them a bit!
