Arghhh skinny ankles

Sandals can be tricky for me as my ankles are so skinny. I've just bought a pair of chunky sandals and I like them, but they feel too big, even though they are my usual size. I've added an extra hole to the strap which has helped, but my foot is still slipping. I can't exchange as they are from vinted.

So is there anything I can try they will help, would an insole look OK in an open toe sandal like these (pic attached) I do really like them so it would be a shame to have to resell them. Paid a fraction of the price buying them off vinted and they are unworn.

Slim ankles are a good problem to have, and the sandals look great. I think a black insole would probably be fine, especially if you coloured the cut edges with sharpie if you needed to.

Ah thanks, I know I shouldn't complain but it does make it tricky to find certain shoes. I'm always having to punch extra holes into the straps . I'd rather my waist be much slimmer but we can't have everything can we😆

I will try a black insole thanks for the suggestion . As I say, it would be a shame not to be able to wear them as I do really like them, plus feet can swell in the summer so it might not be as much of an issue when we finally get some warm weather.

That looks like it fits you fine?

Length wise yes they look Ok, i prefer abit of room at the front ,but they feel big when I walk, thats the issue.

I'd probably take them to Timpsons (or any other cobbler) and ask their advice, they might have a solution.

I have skinnie ankles too, I think they look great.

TheOGCCL · 22/03/2024 22:51

They look nice but I think if they don't fit well you won't wear them. I hate shoes and sandals slipping. I don't think there is a way to help sandals fit. I tend to buy a size smaller (provided my toes aren't off the end) and that helps them fit me better. So I'm a size 6 in boots but when there's no closed end I wear a 5.

They look great! What brand are they? I really like them, chunky without being ugly. Can you not just tighten the strap a bit to adjust the fit?

winniethepooped · 23/03/2024 08:14

I would do anything for skinny ankles! I'm a tall size 8 and fairly slim everywhere else then BOOM I have the biggest cankles in the land.

I've had people actually say to me "your ankles don't match your body" "you've got fluid build up on your legs really bad etc etc

waistchallenge · 23/03/2024 08:23

I don't even have an ankle, it just goes seamlessly from leg to foot 😬😀

Loving the sandals, OP.

Sagittarius · 23/03/2024 19:34

I've ordered black insoles anyway, I'll see if they make any difference.

@winniethepooped that isn't very nice that people would say things like that.

The sandals are from Next , they still have some similar chunky styles for anyone who is looking!

The silicone ball of foot pads might work for you.
There are smooth ones and textured ones.
