Okay really stumped what jacket would you where as a 47 yr old lady to a dance music gig as in underworld just to keep me warm when walking back to hotel as will be too warm whilst there dancing away! Just bought a bomber but it really does not suit me. We are talking a frumpy middle aged lady here lol

Like this place?

Underworld

I'm not sure what the issue is. What does it matter what you wear to go to and from the venue? I'd wear whatever jacket or coat was suitable for the weather on the day. Although if venue doesn't have a cloakroom then it'd be something old which I didn't care about.

Or do you mean the dance artist Underworld ? if so, lucky you and you could get away with wearing anything. Their audience is middle aged old school ravers anyway.

Bet you look better in your bomber than you think! They're quite a forgiving shape, and go over anything (pear shaped size 12 here). Though I always scale up by at least one size, as I find they look more stylish with a bit of drape.

Not that it matters what you wear to or from an underworld gig - you'll be dancing and perspiring away in no time. Though if this is the beach gig, you may be keeping it on, weather depending!

Thanks folks yes it’s the dance artist underworld plan on dancing the night away lol so jacket definitely off when there. I am thinking about it too much will just chuck on any jacket

I never wear a jacket to gigs no matter the weather - I went to one in January when it was snowing and just went for layers.

My standard is: black leather skinnies, ankle boots, black vest, black mesh top, and thicker black top as my top layer, which I just tie round my waist. It also covers my phone and keys in my back pocket so I don't worry about them falling out or getting nicked.

TheDandyLion · 22/03/2024 13:22

You can get away with anything at an Underworld gig wear what you feel comfortable in. I think the last time I went I went for layers too. Long sleeve top with a denim shirt/shacket thing to take off a tie round the waist when dancing.

Last time I went clubbing I wore coated skinny jeans and vest top with trainers. Never anything too bulky or thick as I can't be arsed with cloakroom queues and clubs are hot. I usually have a cardigan to chuck on on the way home but I tie it round my bag strap.

If its really cold, then I have a coat but that's very rare (or I've had a lift and it stays in the car).

In fact in all my years of clubbing anything goes but never you're best. I was surprised I came out with cleanish trainers last year 😅.

I'd be tempted to tough it out without the coat for the walk back to the hotel - it's a new(ish) venue so I'm not sure how efficient the cloakroom will be. I'm uncertain what my plan will be, will check the weather on the day!

No-one will care, you can tell the crowd is a bit older for Underworld as they're even having a half time rest!

Midnightstar76 · 22/03/2024 17:39

Thanks all very tempted to dump the jacket now 😁
