Please inspire me with some bright or cheerful clothes

I don’t mean clown or multiple clashing colours. My wardrobe door is off the hinges to be painted and I can see straight in all the time. Everything is black, grey, dark blue or dark red. I would usually say they’re the colours that suit me, but maybe they’re just bringing my mood down.
I have one orange jumper in there that is making me feel slightly brighter.
What could inspire me to feel like getting dressed in the mornings?
Size 10, late 40s.

Workwear, if so what type, or casual?

parrotonmyshoulder · 21/03/2024 10:45

Not workwear, I’m happy with just dull and fits for work.
I do like sugarhill. I have a black sweatshirt and a jumpsuit from there.

What is your colouring/what colours suit you?

parrotonmyshoulder · 21/03/2024 10:51

Colouring is pale as milk, mid brown hair and eyes.
I don’t know what suits me any more. Had ‘colours done’ years ago and I was a ‘jewel winter’. I’m just not that keen on the colours recommended, apart from the darks mentioned.

Vinted search by jewel winter colours you like, new with tags, your size and price max. Have fun!

Neon marl, happy stride (gym) and scamp & dude have colourful stuff too.

Perhaps, if you can afford it, get your colours done again? I’ve got a feeling things have evolved over the years. If you weren’t keen on the recommended colours then, perhaps the whole analysis was wrong for you.

I find this time of year, wearing everything in dark colours suddenly feels too heavy. Perhaps add in a tiny touch of pattern? Or a mid blue shirt with a subtle stripe?

I'd start off with a colourful necklace. There's some gorgeous multi layered beaded ones about. I bought one from oliver bonas recently and it instantly brightens an outfit. Nice having that pop of colour near your face too.

Necklace is a good idea. I don’t typically wear any jewellery so it’d be quite a change. Funnily enough, I often love everything in Oliver Bonas, but never buy anything.

I bought a lovely Palava cardigan on eBay recently.
They have some great geometric prints.
