Mixing metals - yay or nay?

I was told that you should only wear one type (colour) of metal. It's never been problematic as I usually wear silver. However I do have a gorgeous rose gold watch and bought a couple of rings and a necklace for when I wear it. I wouldn't mix silver and rose gold as I don't think they would look right but is it ok to mix yellow gold and rose gold? I think they would look ok but wondering what others think.

Just ask yourself if you have ever noticed whether someone else was wearing mixed metals and I bet you haven’t and they have. As a first foray what about getting a purposely mixed necklace/charm to make it a cohesive look?

Oh mix, always! I mix platinum, white gold and yellow gold on the daily. I love it!

Yellow gold and rose gold can be super complimentary, go for it.

I've got a mixed gold and silver Chambers and Beau necklace and I love it.

Mixing metals used to be a no, now its a yes definitely. Now i don't know why it used to be a no. I like a mix.

Mixing is fine, it adds depth and variety rather than being matchy matchy.

I have a ring and several pairs of mixed earrings.

Mixed metals have been in for years.
My wedding ring is platinum/gold & my favourite earrings years ago were triple colour gold hoops.
