Is this hair colour nice or is it a bit Ginger Spice?

I think I like this but it is kind of 90s I think? Is that a "bad" thing?
I know I should get a hair colour I like but I've forgotten my style and am lost and need help!
My hair is about shoulder length and my hairdresser isn't much use offering advice.

Or would Trinny be a better option? Not often can her style be described as more subtle! 🤣
Or something else completely?

How is that ginger spice?!
It's not ginger!

It's a warm toned brown. Very pretty with the multi tone thing going on

Go with that and do a b4 and after :-)

TheSqirrelAteMySalad · 16/03/2024 19:10

It's got ginger stripes and is very "blocky". 😄

It’s no where near ginger spice

Looks great

EasternStandard · 16/03/2024 19:13

The Trinny one is less blocky btw

Durdledore · 16/03/2024 19:13

It’s lush 😍

Sage7 · 16/03/2024 19:14

I can't not see ginger spice, looks v dated, Trinnys is much nicer

Coconutter24 · 16/03/2024 19:14

Definitely wouldn’t think of ginger spice!! It’s very nice the colour. I’d also think about a change in hairdresser if she can’t even offer advice on colours or cuts. Every hairdresser I’ve been to has always known what would suit my face shape and offered advice

RedCarWithDice · 16/03/2024 19:19

I think trinnys looks a bit brassy in those pics like it's supposed to be dirty blond but gone rong somehow. The first pics you posted look great! Definitely not 90's ginger spice as they are much more sophisticated.

But if your hair dresser can't advise you, can she really be trusted to get the exact tone you want?

TheSqirrelAteMySalad · 16/03/2024 19:28

I've only ever had 2 hairdressers who made suggestions on what/wouldn't work or offered opinions. I loved them but they both moved.
Every other one has just shrugged and say it's up to me.
I've even said in the past that they can do what they like but didn't get any ideas from them.

I like it but then I've had this one saved in my phone for ages and can't decide if I'm ready to go dark again (currently golden light brown).

I do trust him to make the final product look like the picture. He just wouldn't tell me whether the colour would suit me or suggest how to have it cut. He did tell me that my side fringe was old fashioned and I needed to grow it into curtain fringe though. 😆

@xSideshowAuntSallyx I was a peachy blonde which I loved but I can't afford the upkeep anymore and it took soooooo long and I hate going to the hairdresser. I was happy to go back darker.

How did you go peach blonde?

Was it a bleach job followed by a particular toner?

I've been all kinds of blondes, pure bleach, level 8s, level 9s, level 10s but never come across peach blonde and now I'm nosy to know more.

FrangipaniBlue · 21/03/2024 04:55

The pumpkin pie one is gorgeous. My friend has just had hers done a similar colour (been blond as long as I've known her!) and it looks amazing on her!

Definitely not ginger spice.

I'm not surprised you hate going to the hairdressers if they give you no advice and call your haircut old fashioned TBH. I wouldn't be going back either.

I wouldn't worry about looking too 90s anyway. All the 90s/early 2000s is back in again now. Look at Dua Lipa.

ArcticBells · 21/03/2024 06:02

I absolutely love the colour but to be honest, it depends how well it goes with your skin tone as to whether you should use it.

SuperSange · 21/03/2024 06:46

Totally depends on your skin tone, and if your hairdresser can't advise you about that, then they're not a good hairdresser, tbh.

MyLovelyPurse · 21/03/2024 06:54

Trinny’s hair is a different colour now and if you’re not sure about the colour in the photos you shared, have a look at more recent ones where her hair is a less reddy/brassy brown and slightly ash brown with little touches of blonde which imo looks better.

I think the colour you show in the photos suits some skin tones but not others.
