actually now i see someone says eyebrow threading i remember asking what that was on here not long ago but i have forgotten the answer lol

RubySlippers · 27/03/2008 10:17

the beautician literally pulls the eyebrows out with thread looped around her fingers

sounds hideously painful but is actually ok

hatwoman · 27/03/2008 10:19

if you have your eyebrows done do they look really strange when they start to grow back? how often do you have it done?

Im pretty low maintenance apart from botox and sunscreen and my exercise vid.
I pluck my own eyebrows, they are a pretty nice shape after years of waxing.
I tint my own eyelashes.
Make sure my nails are neat and tidy and thats all I really have time for.

PotPourri · 27/03/2008 10:20

No treatments as such. I go for natural beauty. I spend a bit more on face moisturiser so that it doesn't have chemical nasties in it. And my skin has def felt less assaulted since doing that.

RubySlippers · 27/03/2008 10:21

IME threading seems to only leave a few stray hairs that need dealing with between visits which aren't too obvious and can be plucked

nailpolish · 27/03/2008 10:22

god i LOVE getting my eyebrows waxed

i love facials too. i have mega dry skin and i think it helps LOADS.

i dont get legs or anywhere else waxed - you have to grow the hair to a certain length before they do it. i cannot bear even the slightest growth

goat i know a good salon if you want ideas

nailpolish · 27/03/2008 10:23

i get eyebrows done every 5 weeks. its only 8 quid

RubySlippers · 27/03/2008 10:24

I never do salon treatments BUT I had to have (a complimentary) one done for business reasons recently.

I am a convert - my skin was so well moisturised and line-free afterwards. I will have to go back at my own expense . I also got given a bag full of products.

The whole thing was worth about 250 euros. I can feel myself entering a whole new universe of beauty budgets...

soapbox · 27/03/2008 12:09

Facials and massages about every couple of months or so.

Pedicures are my big thing though - must have them done regularly as I can't be faffed doing them myself any more.

Manicure for a special event.

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 12:12

this thread is a revelation not least because there are people who do this stuff that i wouldnt in a million years have espxetcted

the only pedicure i do is cutting my toenails and having my feet licked (i do the first one)

Whooosh · 27/03/2008 12:12

Eyebrows threaded.
Lashes permed and tinted before holidays.
Legs waxed as often as needed.
Gel pedicure about 4 times a year.

RubySlippers · 27/03/2008 12:34

what's a gel pedicure?

hatwoman · 27/03/2008 13:06

lashes permed. whatever next?

OP posts:
brimfull · 27/03/2008 13:25

oooh I have had my lashes permed a few times. The first time they lloked great,I was Betty Boo! Second time I couldn't even tell they'd been done.

I don't have anything done regularly though.

binkleandflip · 27/03/2008 13:48

Had my lashes permed a few times at college but I wouldnt have it done now as it weakens them so much. The effect is pretty great though
