Mother of BatMitzvah - Dress Help

Mumsnet I need your expert help.

I need some inspiration for a dress to wear to my daughter's BatMitzvah party in May. I need to be dressed to dance.

I'm an apple shape with big boobs. Happy to show legs but not bust.

I've looked in so many places but just not sure what I'm looking for if that makes sense.

Also suggestions for comfy but nice shoes would be appreciated as I live in trainers and literally own no smart shoes.

Thanks!

How smart is the venue?

Last Bat Mitzvah I went to the women were wearing cocktail party type dresses, not shift dresses though.

I'd try Phase Eight

From your description, something like this came to mind.

What's your budget and body shape.

What type of venue and function?

Have a look at McElhinney’s (a dept store in Ireland) on Facebook and particularly Sandra’s 5@5 videos where she tries on 5 different evening/occasion wear dresses each day at 5pm. She’s a similar shape to that which you describe. Some of the dresses are gorgeous - have a look at the videos from around 25 & 26 Feb. They work out quite reasonably priced too as priced in Euros and they’re really helpful if you have any questions on sizing.

Thank you all!

I should probably have answered those questions in my OP.

Budget under £200
Glam but not ballgown.

It's pretty smart like cocktail dress.

The Jigsaw dresses and Gina Bacconi seem a bit like they would swamp me and one i tried on in Jigsaw made me look like a lumpy sack! I love the COS dress but it's not glam enough.

I second the McElhinneys suggestion. Great customer service and lovely clothes. One of my aunts went there to be kitted out for all the major family occasions and also going to tbe races, etc.

The Reiss dress is gorgeous @Renamed thanks!
