How the style this fringe

I went for a haircut today and I asked for some shorter fringey pieces at the front in hope of creating some cute styles when my hair is up etc:

I feel though that they look like just 2 big blunt blocks of hair with no swish ..... how can I make them look better? Any style tips?

It just isn't hanging well. I don't know whether she's cut it badly or if it's just my hair? Maybe I need to "train it" a little ??

I think it's the way it's been blow dried. You should style it outwards rather than inwards if that makes sense. Another way to blow dry the fringe would be downwards and it should then naturally part away from your face, which is what you want.
