Help! My hair has gone orange!

Touched up my roots today with Schwarzkopf Oleo Intense in a dark blonde colour, which I’ve used before and is pretty much identical to my natural colour. I don’t have much grey apart from two white patches just above my ears. These have now gone completely orange. The rest of the hair looks absolutely fine, the sprinkling of grey hairs elsewhere have just blended in. These white patches usually just go dark blonde but today they are literally orange. What has gone wrong and what can I do to make them not-orange?

porous Hair and previous dye. Give it a day. Look at it in natural light.

Blue shampoo/toner?

Bleach bath? Toner? Youtube has some good tutorials for hair colouring mishaps if you can find something similar to your situation.

Good luck, I know that heart sinking feeling following a hair disaster. I hope someone who knows more will be along soon to help you.

Orange normally means you didnt leave the bleach on for long enough or the new dye isn't strong enough to override the warmth in a previous dye you've used.

I always find the area round the ears much slower to lighten than the roots and lengths so I've learnt to do them first as they're so 'stubborn'.

There wasn’t any dye at all on this part of the hair - it was literally white before. I always do these parts first as there’s really not much grey in the rest of my hair. I’ll have a look on YouTube, thank you, or maybe try a toner. The reviews online say that it left people’s hair ginger (quite a number of them), but I’ve used it before with no issues, as I said.
