What's my new look?

I'm a 50 something, size 10, 5foot 6, short grey hair woman.

Usually wear chunky boots, wide leg 3/4 trousers, colourful dresses, bright jewellery, colourful scarves, cashmere jumpers and cardigans. So classic middle class, cliched Mumsnetter with a (slightly) funky edge 😬. I definitely dress younger than my years.

I'm bored and starting to feel frumpy and old fashioned. Have no idea how to update my look. I don't want to be one of those people who gets stuck in a style and stays with it forever.

Please can you stylish people share some ideas /looks /mid range retailers for me to look at and try. I've tried browsing but am utterly overwhelmed!

My figure is pretty standard so I can get away with most styles and cuts.

My current clothes are a mix of ancient/classic, Zara, Uniqlo, homemade and a smattering of unique bits from tk maxx.

Please hit me with your ideas ! Thankyou !

I think as we get older we look a bit 'hey hey look at funky me. I'm so cool and young' when we wear colourful clothes. Unless you dress like the late Iris Apfel it can look a bit cliche. Try finding older fashion influencers on IG that you like and figure out what they are doing

Colour colour colour! I think there’s so many beautiful shirts out. With 200 denier tights. Be experimental. Add a belt. Boots. Go for capsule pieces that you can tuck in classic jeans. Depending on your skin tone, a nice bright colour is a killer for spring this year. There’s lots of lovely jackets too. Also, I am a sucker for quality goods without the price tag.
Im north east too. All I suggest with a good height like yours and a perfect sized 10 with cropped hair is colour. Have fun with experimenting. It’s amazing how much wearing a bold colour can change your look.
