55 and used to have great natural full cheeks with good cheek bones (they were my best asset I think) but over the last couple of years they have just emptied out of their plumpness
any products recommended to replump
feel I look so drawn and nothing against at people that have fillers but I really don’t want to go that route
I use serum and a good anti aging moisturiser (youth bomb) from beauty pie bit wondering if I’m missing a trick !
look in the mirror and wants to cry at how this ages my face

Marlon Brando stuffed his cheeks with cottonwood in the Godfather.

I think sadly it's the fat pads that sit under the skin that both shrink and migrate south as we age - it's very hard to do much about that - and hence why really fillers are a first line resort and for some face lifts.

I would say though that for me that a side effect of the HRT I use ( I'm 47) has kept my skin springy and nice ( it has an impact on collagen production) and you could try a micro current device maybe for a lift?

Custardcreamsandbourbons · 10/03/2024 07:35

Thanks @missfliss ive been on HRT for around 4 years - your right everything is travelling south
ivr joined a gym to try and lift my bum from my legs! Again not overweight big lost tone ! V frustrating !

Ah it's a shame that the face is actually the place that benefits from carrying more fat (in the case of people trying to build muscle I mean!)

For an optical illusion try a good blusher / highlighter combo to deflect light and add colour in the right places.

more tangibly, don’t get too thin. A little chub goes a long way 😂

@BedRot i know sadly when I put on weight it goes on my bum and legs not scraggy face and upper body 😫

Sorry op, I can't remember exactly which one it was, but I was listening to Michael Mosley's Just One Long Thing series on BBC Sounds recently. One of them – I think a diet one – what about certain foods that help produce collagen in the body. Might be worth checking it out. A friend of mine also takes collagen, but I am less sure about the efficacy of this!

Fillers or putting weight on are the only things that can help.

If you decide to join the dark side, take my advice. Go to Darren McKeown for fillers. He’s a genius.

Don’t be put off by his own appearance. He specialises in subtle work because he regrets having bad work done when he was young.

(No affiliation, just a sincere recommendation).

I feel your pain. I have just started using my facial toning device again and purchased one of those LED light masks. I used to use the cheapie Neutrogena LED mask stocked by Boots years ago (originally purchased for teen struggling with acne who wouldn’t look at it) and it was fabulous and as well as seeming to leave my skin plumper, took away my black under eye circles, but it was discontinued. I was nervous about effect on eyesight ( which appears to be why discontinued) so didn’t pursue buying another but recently saw one in TK Maxx (Eclat) not made in China so went for it. We’ll see.

I have noticed that sweat or heat from the sun/ humidity plump up the face wonderfully so maybe move to a warmer climate! Otherwise I have noticed that some facial sunscreens also have a plumping effect and it’s good to wear SPF even here all year round anyway.
