Co-ord gymwear - yes or no?

I bought a nice pair of gym leggings and a matching crop top / sports bra on a whim because they were on sale.

Is it naff to wear them together? Or the preserve of fit young things?

I’m nearly 50! Will I look ridiculous? I’m slim enough to get away with it but I don’t know I have the nerve!

It’s this kind of thing…

Co-ord gymwear - yes or no?

I’m the same age and personally, I don’t like the coordinated look but I also don’t have the figure for it.

If you like it then go for it.

GiveYourHeadAWobble · 09/03/2024 22:33

I like co-ord gym wear. I don’t think it looks naff at all.

Hummusanddipdip · 09/03/2024 22:41

I'd do it. if you're feeling a bit self conscious about going co-ord throw a gym vest over the top?

floppybit · 09/03/2024 22:48

Just wear it, I bet you will look great! I don't pay any attention to what anybody is wearing in the gym anyway

StarlightLady · 10/03/2024 07:10

OP, you bought it because you like it, so go for it!

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 10/03/2024 08:40

Love coordinating gym wear - definitely wear it!

WashableVelvet · 10/03/2024 08:43

It’s a thumbs up from me, I feel current and put-together in my matching set. And it means I can take layers off as I warm up and still look smart.

dreamingofsun · 10/03/2024 08:45

couldnt care what anyone wears, as long as i cant see their pants through their leggings when they bend over and i cant see down the back of their trousers when they bend over. I had to change places once in a class as the man in front was so awful

Dewdilly · 10/03/2024 08:53

It’s completely fine

nuschmoo · 10/03/2024 09:16

As someone who doesn't have the figure to pull this off, absolutely you should wear it!

Personally, l don’t wear knickers under gym leggings; they are going straight in the wash afterwards. That said, if you can see someone’s knickers through their leggings, all it means is that they have knickers on. Personal choice, but hardly a problem for anyone in the gym surely?

Aviee · 10/03/2024 09:20

Love it. Don't let your age stop you doing anything.

Userengage · 10/03/2024 09:28

I wear the same and regularly match, go for it.

effoffwind · 10/03/2024 09:29

If I had the figure to wear this

100% I would

CroccyWoccy · 10/03/2024 10:04

Ok you have convinced me. Wore it to yoga this morning with intention of wearing a slouchy t-shirt over the top but it was boiling so I braved the full look. Think it encouraged me to think about my posture more than usual.

I’m definitely not as slim and toned as the model in the pic but the high waisted leggings pull in and cover my less than 100% perfect tum!

I’d love to be all coordinated in my gym wear but the majority of it’s from charity shops so it’s a case of trying to match colour families.

dudsville · 10/03/2024 18:34

Fab choice op! I really like co-ord stuff and think the gym is the best place for it. I've got 3 COS sets of barrel leg sweat bottoms with a zip up hoodie in dark navy, a rust brown and very pale grey.

SameSameButDeliverance · 10/03/2024 18:39

I like it.

But - and this is meant in the nicest possible way - no-one at my gym would give a shit. Just as no-one gives a shit at uncoordinated kit. Go forth OP!
