Got told off by my hairdresser for using L’Oréal shampoo. She said I should use the professional ranges.

what have you used that makes a difference?

Aveda Botanical repair range or Kérastase Resistance are two really good lines. I get from Look Fantastic x

My hairdresser has never told me off for using high street ranges. Are you sure she didn't just want you to buy products from her?

OhItsOnlyCynthia · 10/03/2024 08:40

My hairdresser's never even asked me what shampoo and conditioner I use. Why did they think the L'Oréal one you're using is so bad?

Solonomi · 10/03/2024 08:42

Aldi Bonded is fabulous. It’s a dupe of Olaplex. I love it as much as Aveda!

DanceToThisBeatForevermore · 10/03/2024 08:46

Interesting! Might need a trip to Aldi this morning.

mitogoshi · 10/03/2024 08:46

Your hairdresser just wants to sell you very expensive shampoo. Aldi and Lidl have excellent dupes, just buy those, or there's plenty of other options in larger supermarkets for coloured hair

I've recently started using Colour Wow and my colour has kept the same as when I walked out of the salon. The spray you put on for three minutes before I wash my hair, is I'm sure what is doing the trick, I have this, the shampoo and conditioner. I was skeptical because it was a Facebook ad but it's truly amazing, a bit pricey though.

Quiz them as to exactly what ingredients are bad. They can't answer. If anyone says "chemicals" you can be sure they know nothing!

I use Neal's Yard quite a lot cos it smells lush and doesn't irritate my skin. It's all plant based. But also John Frieda Go Blonder in the winter.

Mairzydotes · 10/03/2024 10:13

She probably wants you to buy what she sells.

Although some brands of conditioner leave a coating/ build up on hair. It is better to colour hair without this build up. Perhaps the brand you use are notorious for that

I'm happy with the Garnier Hair Food range apart from the banana one because I can't stand the smell of it

I've got Aveda Shampure but only use it every couple of months to sort of clarify my hair.
