I am in despair
The events are: one evening wedding reception in the UK, one full on black tie wedding in Europe

The only item that wasn't a total reject was this coast dress but it is black

Can anyone help me please?

I have just seen this dress in the flesh. The picture doesn't do it justice at all. It is wonderful rich coral, taupe and charcoal colours and looks really gorgeous. I costs £69.

I like the black dress but some people get upset if you wear black to their wedding.

It looks very scrummy in the for real. A really swishy skirt and really quite dressy. Unfortunately the picture just looks like a patterned wrap dress. It's much yummier than that and said spring wedding to me as soon as I saw it.

If deep coral colour suits you, go and have a look at one.

Cambridge is a good place to shop! Has LKBennett etc plus one-off shops geared up for student black tie events.

Try The Tailor's Cat

TheBlonde · 26/03/2008 18:04

Swedes - I think the dress may be too low at the front

DV & Janitor - Thanks for the shop suggestions, will check them out
I don't think there is an LKB there?

DarthVader · 26/03/2008 18:06

yes there is an LKB in the new grand arcade - opens this week

TheBlonde · 26/03/2008 18:52

fab!

I hope you find THE dress, TB.

Swedes · 27/03/2008 09:42

The trouble with dresses from LKB is there will be 5 other people with the same dress in the same colour.

Whareas the Coast dress is lovely and very different. Does it matter that it's black?

TheBlonde · 27/03/2008 14:38

I don't think there is much risk of anyone wearing the same dress at either event tbh

No joy today, TB?

PatsyCline · 29/03/2008 14:10

I think that the chocolate colour of this could be good for the daytime and evening do. Also, very flattering neckline.

It's also available in lime green if you're feeling brave!

TheBlonde · 29/03/2008 18:31

Might shop tomorrow, no time today alas

I like the colour of the wallis dress

I bought the hannah dress for a wedding next month. I also bought the lemon cardi and yellow shoes and bag but I had a fit of guilt and took the shoes and bag back and bought cheaper black ones. It is mid calf length and very flattering on me. Would it be any good for you?

LaDiDaDi · 06/04/2008 10:40

Oh, just noticed it's an old thread!

MrsMattie · 06/04/2008 10:42

Coast dresses are gorgeous. Have you looked at the dress section in Debenhams on Oxford St? Very good selection, usually. I think you could get away with that dress (gorgeous, btw) for both do's. Accessorize with a bright colour for wedding (I wore a black dress with silver accessories for a wedding, and with red accessories for another), and something sparkly for evening do (gold?)

DJCod · 06/04/2008 12:54

phase8 pink dress
i loev that dress
