Navy and green…do they go?

I have a smart event later this week. My only smart coat is a long navy wooden number which I love. My only smart dresses are either long black dress (which definitely won’t go with coat), a long animal print (blacks and browns) which definitely won’t go or a knee length olivey green dress. I can’t decide if green and navy go? My MIL merrily informed me that “navy and green should never be seen”. Any views? Before I make a potential fashion faux pas?

I think navy and green go together. Just not sure about the wooden coat though!

I’m also unsure about your wooden coat!
I saw an absolutely beautiful combo of blue and green in jigsaw. It looked amazing. Having said that, it wasn’t a dark bottle green, more of an emerald green. Beautiful.

My dear Grandma always said "blue and green should never be seen without a colour inbetween" Grin

Olive with navy - excellent. Animal print is technically a neutral so you absolutely could get away with that, too. Just pondering a wooden coat from Jigsaw! 😆

They go!
