Do you get boiling hot in a jumper or a polo neck?

I like being warm but I find it so uncomfortably hot when I wear a jumper or a polo neck. When I go out I’m cold, so I put a jumper on and a coat over the top, then I go round the shops and can hardly breathe! I’m even hot round the house this evening and the heating hasn’t been on for hours. I’m ok in normal clothes, I just don’t get on with jumpers!

I always wear a layer underneath a jumper, like I would a cardigan, so I can take it off indoors if I'm too hot. Usually, a long-sleeved t-shirt/top.

Jumper is OK, especially a v neck but polo necks always make me hot.

Yes it’s a polo neck I’m wearing this evening which is making me hot.

I can’t bear anything high necked (polo or funnel necklines) so I wear layers under lower necked jumpers or cardigans.
I wear pashminas a lot when I go out and scarves, wool/silk mix , in the house too. Both trap warmth but are easy to strip off when my temperature rises.

Yep this is me! Unless it is the middle of deep winter during a cold snap. I wear long sleeved t shirts instead.

I do love a polo neck though so wear them when it's cold enough but only the thin jersey ones. Cannot bear a chunky knit- gives me the cold sweats thinking about.

I have one cashmere and one merino and these are fine as they are breathable and cosy

I'm cold all the time and so I'm in a roll neck jumper most days over my thermals.

bizzey · 28/02/2024 21:32

I can't even look at a high neck/roll neck without coming over all funny these days !!

I have a M&S thermal long sleeve thing which is fab .

Light weight...and I can add /take off laters as I want .

Post menopause....if my neck is not free ....I feel like I am suffocating !

My whole life I've been like this, in my 60s now, I have never been able to wear a roll neck, can't stand anything tight round my neck, can't bear tight cuffs and hate being 'bundled up' round my middle. Even coats are a problem, its that 'restriction of movement' feeling. Ive noticed that my grandson is exactly the same, socks as a baby were off in seconds and he hates being bundled up.

I can't wear them I feel suffocating in them

I dont no, but I'm usually cold in winter. I wear a jumper every day, often with a high neck thermal top underneath.
