Silver trousers and black cape?

Star Wars themed wedding - is this outfit ok?

Amazing! Fits the theme without looking like you're dressing up as a character.

FinallyFeb · 28/02/2024 09:43

I’m know Star Wars expert but the outfit looks spacey to me.

SaffyWall · 28/02/2024 10:00

I think that outfit is bang on the money.

Where is the black cape/blouse from - I love it!

Giggorata · 28/02/2024 10:12

I'm a Registrar and I love a themed wedding! Especially where many guests have made the effort.
And that outfit is fabulously sci fi as well as looking good.

IAmtheVampiresWife · 28/02/2024 11:10

I think it is perfect!

SameSameButDeliverance · 28/02/2024 11:16

I think the 1st outfit is better as the 2nd is a tad bridal (gold trousers good shout and there’s been a few around recently so may be easy to find).

That said, I LOVE the white top - where is it from? It’s bloody lovely.

eb949013 · 28/02/2024 11:25

I love a themed wedding! And I think the subtle nod to the darkside is perfect - still appropriate for the theme without turning their wedding into comic-con (unless that's what they want!)

EnjoyingTheSilence · 28/02/2024 11:29

Love it. Can you let us know where the capes are from!

SnackyOnassis · 28/02/2024 11:29

This is such a great outfit! Love the black and silver.
The recent series Andor has a lot of Mon Mothma in it which is super 70s Swedish Architect, flowing but structural style. Your outfits work really well in that style!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 28/02/2024 11:42

I think if you maybe accessoried it a little and did an amazing hair up l then yes, as it would remind me that of an odd duty Padme shopping on Corusant or maybe Leias mum in Kenobi

DarftVader · 28/02/2024 06:57

I don’t want to wear fancy dress, but I want to pay homage. So cape is bit Darth Vader, and space-y trousers?

I was considering a white cape blouse and brown trousers, but thought the cape blouse might look a bit bridal…

Oooh nice although you may need to jazz up with accessories a bit but yes, very Leia on Bespin/Cloud City Grin

tribpot · 28/02/2024 06:58

I think that fits with a Star Wars vibe without being an actual costume you could never wear again. Thank god they didn't ask you to come as JarJar Binks.

I had my Oodie on with the hood up last week and DH said I looked like a Jawa!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 28/02/2024 11:46

OP you must get lots of pictures!

Mumsnut · 28/02/2024 11:48

I'd be a shoo-in for Jabba. Would take the pressure off my usual angsty wedding outfit hunt.

SmileyClare · 28/02/2024 12:17

Silver trousers are hard to pull off (as a look I mean- not actually getting them off).

Well done making such an effort to be in “theme” though.
I think I’d make do with a normal dress and carrying a light saber!

Any idea what the bride and groom or other guests are going as?

I’ve been to one themed wedding (Alice in wonderland) and it was a strange mix of guests in full fancy dress and some (mostly older family members) who ignored the brief completely!
The decorations in the venue after were good fun/something different.

😂

I suppose the angst for a Star Wars wedding is Would dressing as Princess Leia upstage the bride? Is wearing my hair in the iconic buns as bad as turning up in a white dress? 😳

What a minefield!

unlikelychump · 28/02/2024 06:58

Why don't people have "getting married" themed weddings anymore?

They're insanely boring

Zapss · 28/02/2024 12:31

GoodVibesHere · 28/02/2024 06:31

The outfit isn't a star wars character, so I don't really get it?

Not yet it's not...

Zapss · 28/02/2024 12:33

Go as a Star Trek character.

ImnotadickheadIpromise · 28/02/2024 12:35

I got some silver faux leather leggings from M&S that I think would fit this bill perfectly!

The themed wedding I went to had a box of crappy themed “accessories” think hats/ wigs/masks etc for anyone not in some sort of costume.

I guess as a sort of punishment for not joining in the “fun” 😂

There was a tense moment when one relative refused to put a “Mad hatter” hat on.

Bridenope · 28/02/2024 13:13

OP, that outfit looks brilliant. The draping is quite reminiscent of General Leia in the sequels. Perhaps you could get a cheep rebel alliance brooch to tie the look together? About £3 on Amazon.

Also, can I be your plus one? ….

EverlastingStar · 28/02/2024 14:43

Love the first one black top silver trousers

coureur · 28/02/2024 15:22

First one looks great. Could you accesorise with Han Solo’s belt, holster and blaster? There are some decent quality prop replicas around.
