John Lewis London personal shopper recommendao

Has anyone used a personal shopper at JL Oxford St that they could recommend by name? I could also do Peter Jones in Chelsea at a push though I don’t think they carry the same range of stock and sizes.
i have used this service several times over the past 10 years or more and always been disappointed- though I have used personal shoppers elsewhere with good results
Have felt disinclined to try again but I have a large gift voucher that I have to spend quickly and since I find clothes shopping incredibly tiring I know this is the only way I can do this.
Would therefore be interested in personal recommendations. It would be for a wardrobe refresh- not special occasion shopping

Sorry about the typo in the title- it should have read recommendations

What were you disappointed with at your last visit? I think it s important to note that JL are stylists not shoppers. They can give you advice on what suits you style and colour wise and little tips and tricks but they aren't personal shoppers especially.

Hi- yes fair enough I was using the terms shopper and stylist interchangeably. I have had stylists in other places bring me a good mixture of the kind of things I like but maybe in a brand that i’d not thought to try . Also things I’d never have picked up - maybe slightly outside my comfort zone- but they actually did suit me. Which is all good because I actually wore the clothes. Basically they “ got” me and listened to what I said about my lifestyle
I have done JL Oxford Street 4 times over several years- all disappointing in various ways.
First time just a bit meh- no suggestions I could’nt have made myself.
Second spent the whole time extolling the virtues of NYD jeans which I did buy though not that struck on them. Otherwise kept bringing me a variety of tops in the kind of sludgy colours I hate and don’t suit ( told her this)
Third kept trying to get me into what I’d call “ office” dresses which did look nice but I had absolutely no occasion to wear- again I kept telling her I’d never wear them but she was very persuasive.Gave the ones I bought away years later with the labels on.
The last one kept bringing me the sort of styles and colours she was wearing. She was much taller and slimmer than me with totally different colouring and most of the stuff was yuck.
Took practically everything back that I’d bought with her.
