Does anyone wear maternity jeans even though they are not pregnant :-)

๐Ÿ˜is this odd?

I just want some jeans that keep my upper belly controlled, and I cant think of what to look for apart from "maternity jeans" with that elasticated upper waist bit!

Well I hated my maternity jeans as they were always falling down (despite an enormous bump), so probably not the best person to ask.

In the past I have bought some โ€˜enhancerโ€™ jeans inNext that were good at sucking my tummy in and were still comfortable.

I wear my under bump maternity shorts in the summer it's nice to let the floppy tummy hang loose ๐Ÿ˜‚

For jeans I bought some Pull and Bear ones that have an elasticated waist from asos

I'm living in M&S cosy high waisted jeggings at the moment, which hold everything in nicely while also being stretchy!

I can't imagine they would control your belly as they have a panel to let your belly out!

Daintysos · 27/02/2024 12:33

I wear jeans by I Am Denim, they're made for us mums with tummies that need extra love. Theyve different styles and options to hold the belly in, tummy control and ones with a built in bellyband which i love!

I wore them the whole time I was breastfeeding because I didn't want to buy feeding tops. I would wear normal t shirts and pull them up to feed. If I had to do this in public, the maternity belly band went almost all the way up to my boobs so I didn't have to have my whole belly out in public!!! Still had to have my boobs out but hey-ho...

PassMeTheCookies · 27/02/2024 12:41

They do the opposite of control your belly. They're designed to keep your belly free of restrictions. They won't stay up without a bump.

Some high waisted jeans will probably be better.

i am an โ€˜olderโ€™ woman and getting jeans to fit is a nightmare๐Ÿ˜ฌtoo short in the waist and terrified of a top riding up to show my very scarred tummy then last year i found the I Am Denim jeansโ€ฆ. They fit like they should, and because they are high waisted i dont worry about being embarrasedโ€ฆ cant praise them enough๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

I had the perfect pair of under-the-bump maternity jeans, which cost virtually nothing on the sale rail in Next and were probably hideously unfashionable, but I loved them. They were just the right shape for my legs and had lovely little embroidered flowers on the pockets/hip area. I wore them long after pregnancy, until they fell apart. I'd probably buy another pair if I saw them and my DS is nearly 17 now!
