Wedding dress that's not a wedding dress

I am hoping someone with a good eye for a nice dress can help me out!
I am getting married in May, a quiet do at a registry office with close family and a couple of friends. I am looking for a nice dress, maybe weddingy looking but not a wedding dress, so probably more bridesmaid type I guess.
I am a size 16 and really conscious of my c-section overhang and also my arms.
Budget of about £100
Thank you so much!

I found a lovely one in Fenwicks which is V neck, full skirt, embroidered flowers. Gorgeous. I can’t remember the label which doesn’t help.

I am a size 16 too - belly and boobs. Do you have a preference on length or style? And colour? If it was me, and I wanted vaguely bridal, I'd probably look at something like:

or
this

But I wore a flowered midi tea dress for our registry office wedding so I'm more inclined to something with colour. Something like this

Lynette Dress

Designed from a bespoke blossom print, this duck-egg blue maxi wrap dress exudes Springtime essence. The midi dress has been designed with gathers at the bodice, an asymmetrical ruffle and blouson sleeves to add to the femininity. Pair with nude courts...

@OP What about something like this: Mother of the bride dress | Vinted
I know it says Mother of the bride dress, but it looks like it might perfectly match the wedding/ not wedding dress look you're after and at a steal price! you can also make an offer on it and perhaps get even cheaper.

Mother of the bride dress

Worn once, will be dry cleaned before posting. Currently retailing at £795. True to size. Colour - ivory

I love the one @LadeOde has suggested. I was thinking something 50s shaped, big skirt and sleeves.

Does anyone know what MotB sizing is like? I think wedding dress sizing is smaller than high street.

SemperIdem · 22/02/2024 23:29

What type of style do you wear generally?

Clean lines? Frills? Patterns?

Isanyonereallyanonymous · 22/02/2024 23:32

No suggestions but I love the phase eight dress on M&S linked to above for something a bit more traditional, and the Lynette dress from fenn weight mason for a slightly less traditional look (I also think it would look so much better on a fuller figure than their slender model).

Have you looked at coast or monsoon

asos also does some bridal type dresses

What kind of style are you looking for? And are there parts of you that you would like to show? This dress looks great for boobs! From Emily and Fin. They have other colours, too.
