100% cottton jumpers in jewel colours

Anyone seen any reasonably priced pure cotton jumpers in deep colours? Not pale blue, pink or cream. Below £30. Everything for women appears to have polyester, though the men can have pure cotton, it seems.

Have you looked at Kettlewell?

Sususudio · 22/02/2024 08:17

Lovely colours, but they don't seem to have pure cotton. I am ok with 5% elastane or modal, but I do prefer mostly cotton. I just saw the 3 d knit on Uniqlo which is pure cotton, but not much choice in colours.

Oh, sorry, not for under. £30.
Sometimes EWM have deep coloured ones, but can be a bit chunky.

MaggieFS · 22/02/2024 08:22

Oh I would love some. But tbh, I don't mind the pale colours either! I just get so sweaty in all the synthetic stuff, and it bobbles.

Purple, blue or (a bit pastel) yellow. £26.

Dependent on your height I buy alot of mens clothing. As you say cheaper and better quality. Nobody knows its from the mens section until I tell them. Give it a try.

Cuppachuchu · 22/02/2024 08:30

Love the John Lewis one, just a bit batwing y maybe? Are batwings a thing again? They don't suit me.

Sususudio · 22/02/2024 08:30

Oh, the EWM one looks good thanks @Cuppachuchu . never bought from them. TU has a lot of colourful men's jumpers. I am 5'7 so they might work.

I've got a navy cotton jumper from EWM I've had for about 8 years, still good, never bobbled or faded. Hope you find the quality still as good.

yarnwitch · 22/02/2024 08:40

Like others I've got an EWM one that's worn well. It's quite heavy and chunky. I've also got a good quality vintage St Michael's one if you're open to secondhand.
Woolovers do a good variety of cotton and cotton mix jumpers too. The one I have is a lighter and stretchier feel.

Benetton have great range of brighter colours and shapes . Out of budget at full price but often have % off sales so worth keeping an eye.

Completely off topic, but why do the Benetton models look so sad? Weird!

Sususudio · 22/02/2024 13:25

Thanks all. I like the Benetton and Seasalt colours a lot. Will keep an eye out for them or look for sales or on Vinted. Forgot Benetton existed!

White Stuff is worth a look, they have been doing nice long cotton modal jumpers recently (which don't feel at all nylony). The price point is usually about £50 but they go on sale quite often.

TheBunyip · 22/02/2024 14:17

M&S mens are my go to, not sure they have jewel colours right now, but there is usually a lot of options

I was about to type exactly this

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 22/02/2024 15:39

If you have found some men’s ones you like give them a try, some fit ok and are often slightly thicker than women’s.

Definitelynotme2022 · 22/02/2024 15:41

Woolovers have some, but they are over your price point.

Have you had a look on Vinted?

Lemonyyy · 22/02/2024 15:43

I have two of the sea salt ones and the seams on the sleeves started to go after about 6 months. Not worth it for the money, imo, just as an aside!

Epidote · 22/02/2024 15:45

Pure cotton, 30 pounds? I don't think you are going to find many. 2 pounds 100 gr of the cheapest cotton. 400- 500 gr approx on a medium size jumper you are looking on a tenner just on material. poliester would be about a fiver on material. I know those are knitting yarn prices but you can have an idea of why poliester is cheap.
