I'm 36AA, possibly AAA, and I just want a decent bra. I've looked at Pepper which is fairly expensive, and Little Women slightly less so, but wondered if any of the small boob family out there can give me some advice. I've just bought a pack of two bras today from M&S but the padding is minimal and my nipples are showing through. Also, as they're 'first bras' they do look slightly child like... Surely there's a fair few of us out there who need small bras??? Or is it just me 😭

Ok then, 30DD it says!!! I would never have come up with that, crikey! 😅

OP, that’s the same size as me. No one would ever describe me as having big boobs. I used to wear a 36a and was always uncomfortable.

AlwaysTheGoodGirl · 23/02/2024 19:37

@Misty999 and @Ypsilanti my mind is blown!

I wear a 36b or34c but I measure a good 34 under bust as I am tall with a large rib cage, size 14. Most women unless quite overweight seem to be 30 or 32.

OctogenarianDecathlete · 23/02/2024 19:41

I thought I was a measly 34A for years. Bras never fitted properly. I thought I was a weird shape.

Nope. Boob or bust put me at 28D.

I wear 30C mostly now - they're comfy and easier to come by.

Welcome to the Not Tiny club, OP.

AlwaysTheGoodGirl · 23/02/2024 19:44

@OctogenarianDecathlete I am re-identifying myself as a busty bombshell!

Mine has just come back as 28DD when I normally wear 34A!

I just don't understand how that could be comfortable when a 34 feels tight-ish and I can't wait to take it off 🤔

These bralettes from M&S are great

You sound similar to me in build @MonteStory. I wear a bra so that I don't look like a boy.

Ihatemondays1962 · 23/02/2024 21:02

The boob or bust measurements did not work for me at all. It was uncomfortably tight and the cup gaped, even the next band size up was uncomfortable.

My waist is small. I'm tiny busted. Size 10 in a top but have a broad back! Take a 34.

Hi @AlwaysTheGoodGirl,

The Boob or Bust method is a good starting point but you may find that you adjust the sizes slightly to find something comfortable. I think the website mentions when you try on a new bra you should tie it on the loosest hook and as time goes on and the bra stretches you can move to the tighter hooks.

I think my BoB measurements was a 28F or something but I find a 30E is more comfortable on me.

Cubbychub · 24/02/2024 21:11

Also, I follow the Irish Bra Lady on instagram. Worth having a look at her page. She really does not like Pepper!

AlwaysTheGoodGirl · 24/02/2024 21:36

I've been having a look at the C and D cups in Sainsbury's tonight. There is just no way!! I might as well sellotape coconut shells to my chest 🙈

@AlwaysTheGoodGirl , I just went on a site that shows you how to measure your boobs. It says I'm a 28 AA!!! It's because my boobs are so saggy.😭😭😭🤭🤭🤭

C and D cups in what band size?

Alwaystired2023 · 24/02/2024 21:41

I bought a couple of Pepper bras OP - despite measuring a 26AA 🤣 I just bought a 30A with the band on the lowest setting and it was okay - I'm used to this as 26 does not exist. Really worth the money, first bra that has ever fit me, no gaping cups, actually felt really good in a bra for once! I think they must be getting more popular because they have sales now, before they were only ever full price from what I saw. Good luck!

AlwaysTheGoodGirl · 24/02/2024 22:23

@RampantIvy the smallest they had was 32

RotundCheese · 24/02/2024 23:03

Joining in with all the other 30Ds although actually I just don't bother with a bra anymore (except for running).

You'll probably have to buy online, OP and even then it's hit or miss as the style makes a big difference.

stickybear · 24/02/2024 23:54

Just to say the Boob or Bust thing doesn't work for everyone. I've always worn a 34A / AA. Measured myself according to Boob or Bust (30D I believe, but it was a while ago so might be misremembering) and spent weeks ordering and returning bras in various sizes that just did not fit. Anything smaller than a 34 is just too tight on me. I'm back in my 34As now and find Tu do decent T-shirt bras in that size. Good luck OP!

willowstar · 25/02/2024 04:00

I was wearing a 36D and knew it wasn't really right...comfy enough but my boobs seemed to be getting lower and lower. I am in peri menopause. Anyway, I lost a bit of weight and just went and got fitted in John Lewis this week and to my great shock, I seem to be a 32FF!!! In fact in Triumph I was a 32G. I bought three bras and my boobs seem to look better. Definitely worth going somewhere to get fitted I think.

AlwaysTheGoodGirl · 09/04/2024 18:56

UPDATE!!

Ohhhh myyyy gooooddddd! The discovery of a lifetime! I nonchalantly grabbed a 32D off the sale rail in Matalan this afternoon, nice pink lacy one for £7......and it fits perfectly!! My mind is totally blown. Nearly 30 years in a 34A or 36A, 36AA when I could get them, and I'm a bloody 32D! Feels amazing 🤩

I was the same. M&S told me for years I was a 36A. I felt like I was wearing children's bras. Went and got measured at both Victoria secrets and boux avenue, and they both said 34D!!! Now my bras are much better!!

CactusPeach · 09/04/2024 20:04

I'm another one recommending boob or bust, I thought I was a 34A, turns out I'm a 28D, I tend to wear 30C though because I also dislike tight bands, depends on the bra though, my simple everyday bras are looser than my others despite them being technically the same size.
OP you can adjust the measurements to your liking, if you prefer a bigger back than your correct size then just adjust the cup down the same amount.
