Bras, bralettes, crop tops etc. Where should I try?

I've really gone off wired bras in the last couple of years, and more often wear Uniqlo cami tops with built in support.

I want to try something more bra-like but I'm confused about where to start. I think I might want to try bamboo or similar, and open to anything soft and stretchy.

Any recommendations or starting points please?

What size are you? I like the Wacoal bralettes.

MadelineWuntch · 18/02/2024 21:03

I love the Laura Ashley bralettes. They are completely non wired, give me a great shape and totally smooth out back fat.

Good question. Honestly I've kind of lost track. I used to wear some crazy size like 38B then did ABTF or similar and came up as 34DD. My weight and shape has changed since then, thanks to peri, and I'm not actually sure how to measure any more 😫

Thanks for suggestions, I'll look at Wacoal and Laura Ashley.

I love the unwired m and s lace bralettes- I used them after surgery and have stick with them ( previously a wired wacoal fan)

Yes I found these surprisingly supportive.

Also their flexifit non wired bra is comfy.

Sloggi are my current favourites bralettes.

ThePoshUns · 18/02/2024 21:21

I've recently bought the Boody bras as like you am sick of underwire.

Really comfortable and supportive for a fuller bust

I love snag bras, great for larger breasts!

I find the M&S lace bralettes give a better shape than the Flexifit but the Flexifit is the most comfortable bra I've ever worn.

Cantonet · 18/02/2024 21:52

Boody padded bralettes or sloggi zero feel push up bralette.

CountFucula · 18/02/2024 21:53

Second recommendation for Boody

WildGeece · 18/02/2024 21:59

I like Sloggi double comfort bras.

sciencemama · 18/02/2024 22:01

My favourite bralette is actually from peacocks believe it or not but then I am quite on the small size

APurpleSquirrel · 18/02/2024 22:02

I've been wearing the M&S lace bralettes since I stopped breastfeeding 5 years ago. Not going back to wired now. Very comfortable & good shape.

Yes. I think size matters. For reference for the Op I'm a 34GG or 36G. Depending on style etc.

dottyaboutstripes · 19/02/2024 09:00

I was wearing M&S bralettes but bought some for a fancy dress party from Asda (they were neon Grin) and they were so much better! Something like £15 for 3. Definitely worth a try - it's all I've worn since.

Organaforever · 19/02/2024 09:17

Another vote for Boody, they had a really good sale offer Christmas and I stocked up!

minipie · 19/02/2024 09:22

Watching. I have some ancient Gap Breathe ones I love but they are on their last legs and Gap don’t do the style any more.

NotquitewhatImeant · 19/02/2024 09:32

Also switched to M&S from wacaol. I’ve got a v small bust but the flexi fit is great for comfort and I also like their non-wired bras for a bit of shape. They have adjustable straps and are still very soft but bit more life. I’ve never gone back to wired bras after kids and now when I try one on it’s agony!

KatharinaRosalie · 19/02/2024 11:01

M&S Flexifit is surprisingly good, can recommend

Wednesdaysotherchild · 19/02/2024 11:06

I’m a D cup and loving the Boody ones, really soft and comfy but supportive. I’ve even got ones comfy enough to sleep in, which is a revelation!

MrsWhattery · 19/02/2024 11:11

Second Peacocks. I would rather they were natural fabrics, but that’s hard to find in bras, but aside from that they have loads of choice, styles colours etc and are very comfortable. I also have some nice ones from Primark. I’ve tried more expensive ones too but come back to the cheap ones!

ThePoshUns · 19/02/2024 11:16

Boody are bamboo/ viscose so breathable as well.
I was a bit dubious buying on the back of instagram ads but really pleased with the quality and comfort

Scrunchcake · 19/02/2024 11:22

So many brilliant recommendations to look at here - thanks everyone 😀
