Washed a dry clean only dress. Can I save it??

Any tips for saving dry clean only items you accidentally washed?

Popped a viscose dress from Whistles in the wash, gentle cycle 30degrees.

It has come out feeling like cardboard.

Anything I can do to revive it?

Try lots of steam!

is it dry?
ime those fibres feel stuff if wet but will soften once dry.
give it a few shakes whilst drying.

This should be fine once air dried and ironed on low. Ime it’s the ironing which will get this back to normal x

Thanks all! Its still wet so maybe I panicked too soon. Will let dry and then iron.

Fingers crossed. It was a Whistles bargin from Vinted and chucked it in the wash without looking 😩

Viscose is often stiff when wet. Dry it and iron it and it should be fine.

Whistles are buggers for putting dry clean only on things that are perfectly washable.

They soften up once dry

Viscose responds really well to a good steam iron. I often see people complaining that it has shrunk. It hasn't shrunk. It'll be absolutely fine when ironed or take it to the dry cleaners to be professionally pressed. I'd never normally have viscose dry cleaned. It's perfectly washable.

Oops

As others have said, viscose often feels weird when it's damp from the wash but it's fine once dry and ironed.
