How to wear jeans!

My go to style is standard skinny jeans with longish top due to the fact I have quite good legs but am conscious of my tummy.
My day to day wear is quite casual my work place isn't fancy and I can get away with jeans/jumpers but still like to look vaguely smart although it's office based it's an industrial type environment & gets cold in the winter so no point wearing expensive clothes
Anyway, my question about jeans is how to wear different cut jeans whilst disgusting my tummy area. If I wear flared jeans with longish/baggy tops I feel shapeless and frumpy.
Any tips greatly appreciated as I'm off to the Trafford centre tomorrow for a mooch

Straight leg jeans, French tuck with the top, boots (I prefer chunky but whatever your style) and a blazer/jacket of some kind.

Yeah I've tried the French tuck...I need to practice it more. It would probably look better with straight leg jeans I expect.

You need tops that just cover half way between your tummy button and your crotch. Probably about this length of it wasn’t tucked in. It gives the impression of cropped and a more balanced silhouette, while covering your tummy. I mean that way you can wear jeans that are a bit flared.

I think you're right @Cheeesus I'll make an effort to try to find these types of tops. I've got 2 like this but I don't seem to come across them easily so default to the longer type tops that are everywhere & now I've got loads of them!

I have great legs but am a barrel in the middle! I wear dark straight leg high waist jeans with a turn up for work. Love 'em.

@soupmaker what sort of tops do you go for?

@soupmaker what sort of tops do you go for?

Various.

I'm slim of hip so go for tops that hit just under my hip bone and cover my tummy area. Have lots of longline t-shirts in heavy cotton. I often chuck a blazer over them and add a chunky scarf. Love a tunic top or dress with pockets. Also wear A line shirts. I find men's knitwear works better than women's as it tends to be longer.
