Have brocade ivory prom style wedding from BHS, the exact dress is not on their website but there is a similar one on their, but I need something to go over it, in case I get chilly. The wedding is surprise, DF has organised the whole wedding and all I know about it is that it is after May and is at 5.30pm. Can anybody find me something that could go over it. It needs to be plain though and ivory coloured. Have looked everywhere I can think off but am now stuck!

TIA

You had the right 'their' the first time round ic! Will have a look for you. Is the dress strapless?

singyswife · 22/03/2008 21:51

Monsoon have an ivory shrug.

Immaculateconception · 22/03/2008 21:52

Size 10. Can't think straight at the moment! You see how stressed I am, thank god I'm not organising the wedding! The dress is strapless.

It's the second 'their' that was wrong!!

I got married in October and wore a srapless dress with nothing over it. I was worried about feeling cold but I think the adrenaline and excitement keeps you warm! Even went outside for over an hour for photos.

I thought it was worth a mention in case you don't find anything suitable. Also, I'd probably go for a little top of some sort because pashminas/throws are a pain in the bum to keep on!

PS. How exciting, a surprise wedding!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/03/2008 21:55

bugger. I have an unused ivory bolero from my wedding that i didnt use in the end. It's size 14 though.

I got it from debenhams. Have you looked there?

Immaculateconception · 22/03/2008 21:56

Have absolutely no idea when the wedding is, DF has booked the whole thing and has sorted out the kids. All I've had to do is get the dress!

Are you thinking short sleeved or long?
Long cloak or cape or short shrug/wrap?
Lace, silk, satin, organza?

Jackstini · 22/03/2008 22:00

Oops - and is there a budget?

Immaculateconception · 22/03/2008 22:03

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Have absolutely no idea, my gut feeling is a long sleeved one, but am open to suggestions. I think, like my dress, I will know when I see it.

Sorry to be a pain in the backside, this is why I'm asking the wise women of here to help me!

Take colour match for your dress with you where ever you go, as if it doesn't match, it could spoil the look.

Jackstini · 22/03/2008 22:13

Ideas then...!

Immaculateconception · 22/03/2008 22:27

Like the first Ebay one and love the idea of wrap and shrug website. Am going to send off for their swatch samples to see if any match the dress.
