Vintage Mulberry bags, yay or nay?

I had loads of them about 15/20 years ago and sold most of them, very reluctantly, over the years to fund various stuff. I've just been looking through my wardrobe and have rediscovered my black Alana which I couldn't bear to part with but haven't used for about ten years. I've bunged a cross body strap on her and I've fallen in love all over again.

To my eyes, worn cross body she looks fresh and stylish. Am I however kidding myself - will I look dated and old fashioned rather than coolly retro?

I've also got a Rosemary (small Roxanne), which I'm also eyeing up afresh. I'd wear that cross body too.

Do I need to step away from the decades old bags or no?!

Oh my gosh, I've just stumbled on this old post of mine while googling vintage Mulberry bags - a search which also threw up this very style of bag being sold on Vinted etc for a LOT of money!

The Chloe Paddington is also very much back and Mulberry has relaunched the Roxanne so it looks as if we've definitely come full circle fashion-wise. I'm so glad Mulberry used to make their bags practically indestructible because they look even better now at a 20 year remove than they did when they were new. Also glad I bought a couple more last year when they were still v uncool and therefore incredibly affordable 😊

Isn't retro in vogue nowadays? How could it go out of style?

Have you compared the new leather to the leather on the Roxanne bags from back in the day? For me the old leather wins every time.
