Help me find a Vit C serum 20% at around £20!

Sorry for the very detailed title, but it is basically what I need:). I tried several serums, selected randomly, and never been super impressed. Basically I don't really see any difference other than some oil control for some of them!
Then I read here that I should go for a minimum of 20% of Vitamin C in the serum. Fair enough. But there are soooo many options out there, in so many prices, and on top of that the majority of the bottles don't even say how much Vitamin C they have..... I feel very lost....

My budget is £20 top, but the cheaper the better of course. Does anyone know a serum that matches the requirements? Many thanks!

Sali Hughes and Geek and Gorgeous both come in at around that. As does the N7.

The most effective vitamin C is generally considered to be L-ascorbic, but at high percentages any vitamin C can irritate. Some people just can't take a strong one. The highest I used was 23% but I'm happy with the Sali one at the moment. Not sure what % it is. I'm going to try the G&G one next- it's supposedly a spot on dupe for Skinceuticals

BlindurErBóklausMaður · 12/02/2024 20:18

Both the Sali Hughes and the G&G are 15%.

I use Geek and Gorgeous C-Glow, which I think is 15% l-ascorbic acid. I really like it, and it's only about 10 quid a bottle. You can't buy it in shops though, only on their website.

The Garden of Wisdom one from Victoria Health is very light but I’m pretty sure hits your %. They make two Vit C products, I like the water based one.

Revolution do a 20% for £12.

Vitamin C has never made the slightest difference to my skin and I've tried loads

Retinol however does as does AhA or BHA

Boots No 7 retinol

REN AHA

Paula's choice BHA

All of the above are fairly low cost and work

beguilingeyes · 13/02/2024 11:42

I really like the Sali Hughes one. Will repurchase.

I got a brand new Sunday Riley Vit C from Vinted for £20
I've used a few and it's the best one

SendmetoWales · 13/02/2024 11:47

Me too I bought the L'Oréal Revitalift one instead of the Sali Hughes I just finished and regretted changing.

SendmetoWales · 13/02/2024 11:50

@MKeegs Which one did you buy? Do you think it is worth the original price tag?

Sunday Riley CEO l'sorbic Vic C I think is its proper name? Yeah I'd pay full
price for it as well if I can't get again on offer or Vinted!

@MKeegs Great! Thank you. I might try it as I do have a Sunday Riley eye serum that I love.

I bought a vit c powder after hearing a dermatologist say that she opened vit c capsules and mixed them into her moisturiser. I think it was a The Ordinary one. No instructions so I added a little but to my serum and kept increasing til I thought it was doing something.

brogueish · 13/02/2024 18:38

@Blueuggboots thank you - that’s the one I meant!
