Can you recommend a really good primer for mid 40s me please?

I try quite hard with my skincare. Use hyaluronic serum, tret, moisturise. I use Estée Lauder DL/futuriste and like it a lot but it just doesn’t seem to look as good as it did a couple of years ago. I have combination skin and wonder if a really good primer would work as a good base/filler/blurring product before foundation. I’ve used many over the years (always just cheapish high street ones) and wonder if there’s a really good one out there that people could recommend for skin like mine?

Thank you!

I like Bobby Brown Face Base

Second the Bobbg Brown one. The number 7 airbrush away is also good.

At the moment I've got 2 which are: Benefit pore minimiser & Revolution Conceal & Fix mattifying primer.
The Revolution one is only £8.

I'll tell you what not to buy- the Laura Mercier primer. It's expensive and I see absolutely no benefits of using it. Very annoyed I spent the money on it.
The Smashbox primer is good.

I've been very impressed by a good old boots. No 7 one I recently got as an emergency purchase when my bobbi brown one ran out. Fraction of the price and I won't go back. It makes make up stick all day and skin feels really nice!

I’d say it might be the foundation not working and to try something lighter. I think less is more post 40.

I always go back to good old Clarins Beauty Flash Balm.

I’ve recently started using the Shiseido blurring primer from John Lewis. I’m really impressed with it, skin looks a lot smoother, and my makeup seems to last a lot longer.

I'm around your age, Ysl touche eclat blur primer for sure!
