That cornish seaweed shampoo?

Has anyone used this? Is it really that amazing? Tempted by their sale. But it's still stupidly expensive.

@AudOneOut

Which moo goo shampoo please

It's their Milk Shampoo and Conditioner which are sold separately. I was able to get mine from local independent pharmacy. No money back guarantee with this so if you do try it maybe get the small size to start to see if it works for you.

I've been using Cornish seaweed for a while.
I found the shampoo left my hair quite knotty, but the conditioner is lovely, seems to melt into hair.
I used it for a good while but stopped as seemed to not be working.
I've recently gone back to it as had a lot left as bought a bundle and it's leaving my hair soft and shiny again.
I'll use it until it's finished but probably won't buy again.

I googled this and wanted to see honest reviews. I’ve been using it for a month now. I think their 60 day guarantee is disingenuous as when I’ve emailed to say it’s not working for me I get told I need to persevere for 6-8 weeks. I’ve asked for a refund, it just doesn’t lather and I’m trying really carefully to distribute it through my hair - putting a pump on each quarter of my head. I have v fine shoulder length hair so I can’t believe I need more. My ends have dried out and my hair is knotty. It’s also lank and it’s impossible to get a clean scalp. I’m shampooing twice and more frequently - which is what customer care recommend (the more frequently not shampooing twice) but I already washed my hair every other day and I don’t have time to dedicate to it each day. Especially when each wash is an exact science of shampoo distribution. I’ve asked for a refund.

Andcow · 10/01/2025 09:14

It works OK for me and has led to my hair feeling a bit thicker so I've just bought a second set of shampoo and conditioner. I do not use it every wash though and I also use a lush shampoo and conditioner and occasionally a standard purple shampoo and conditioner to help keep some highlights from going too yellow. I have fine (thin) hair that wants to curl and have highlights and colour in it too.

ILovepuzzles · 08/02/2025 08:21

For me it didn't work. My hair was left greasy and very brittle. My sclap feeling more itchy which is new to me. Close friends have quietly asked what was going on as my hair has never looked so bad. I agree about the company being disingenuous with the refund. First time I asked for a refund I was told to read a blog and keep going with the products. I've now gone back again to ask for a refund and their process to return their products. It's a shame as it seems to work for alot of people. I am not in a hard water area and my hair is coloured. I've previously found liz earle shampoo and conditioner to work very well for me (was a smashing Christmas gift a few years ago).

WinterBird24 · 08/02/2025 11:45

@ILovepuzzles

i have gone to lush shampoos bars - they are amazing! Wonderful lather and my hair feels fantastic, no greasy residue whilst my hair adapts to sulphate free shampoos, what I’ve learnt is there’s plenty of sulphate free, natural shampoos and it seems only the Cornish Seaweed stuff has a “transition period” so I’m not convinced it’s genuine, rather a sign the product isn’t effective.

ILovepuzzles · 08/02/2025 19:06

WinterBird24 thanks so much- I'll give them a go :)

Jellifer · 03/03/2025 08:25

I’m approaching 4 weeks now and my hair still feels like it’s coated in something almost sticky. Having to wash it even more often than before but they keep telling me to persevere.

Do I carry on to the magic 6 week mark or just give up now?

MrsAlwaysRight · 03/03/2025 08:44

Doesn't lather and therefore hard to distribute through thick hair. I found it didn't make my hair feel clean. I already use silicone and sulfate free products so my hair shouldn't need to adjust. Wouldn't buy again.

If anyone came here because they have a dry scalp I second the MooGoo Milk shampoo and conditioner recommendation. I bought it on a whim, usually use Dercos but it’s quite drying on the hair itself. MooGoo got rid of the flakey scales round my hairline. It’s not cheap but it’s not insanely expensive either.

CeliaCanth · 03/03/2025 09:20

I use it and really like it. I’m 58 with fine hair but lots of it. It seems to have stopped my hair loss and my hair does seem soft and shiny. I also like the smell. Agree re lack of lather but suspect that is in comparison to other shampoos.

Jewelanemone · 25/04/2025 17:50

Resurrecting this again as I've just started using the shampoo and conditioner that I was given in October. The shampoo is incredibly runny and the conditioner is so thick I couldn't get it out, so I contacted the company. They sent me two pump dispensers free of charge, which arrived practically the next day and solved both problems.

I've used the shampoo and conditioner three times now, and my hair feels lovely, and thicker (although this is probably my imagination). I have shoulder length fine, sun-bleached hair and live in a hard water area. You'll get very little lather with it but my hair feels clean and the conditioner is perfect for my hair type (tangles like a bird's nest on contact with water).

Smells lovely and fresh too 😊

coxesorangepippin · 25/04/2025 20:58

I'm sorry but in no way am I willing to persevere with crap hair for six weeks!!

Just buy some Alberto balsma tea tree tingle

RubyFlewToo · 25/04/2025 21:16

I got these - 3 for 2 shampoo, conditioner, scalp oil and face washes. With free face oil and lip balm.

The face wash is fine- not too drying and smells nice and the face oil and lip balm were good.

The shampoo left my hair (very fine, shoulder length) feeling like a knotted bird’s nest and the conditioner did little to help matters. It was marginally less awful if I’d remembered to use the scalp oil, but generally I remembered I’d forgotten to do so again as I got into the shower. I asked for advice in the comments on one of their Facebook adverts, as a lady said she has persevered and found it better - and she said she’d started shampooing her hair 4 times each wash! Who has time for that? 🙄

it’s a shame as they smell nice, but they’re just not effective. They gave me a refund for the shampoo and conditioner… but I’ve got bottles of each languishing that I’m not sure what to do with.

Jewelanemone · 25/04/2025 23:36

It's interesting that there are so many different 'reactions' to these products. I'm going to persevere as I'm pretty happy so far, but I've still got my old shampoo and conditioner waiting in the wings, just in case.

mummyofcutetwo · 26/04/2025 00:24

I love the shampoo, conditioner and facial cleanser.

At first the shampoo didn’t lather up, but I’d read that it wouldn’t for the first month or so until my hair had detoxed, so I wasn’t surprised. Now when I wash my hair it lathers up beautifully. My hair feels so soft and bouncy, and definitely feels thicker than it has done in a very long time. My dry itchy scalp has gone too, and I’m so happy with the results in all.

Wondering if anyone has any more recent reviews on this stuff

I’m 47 and suffering from hair loss and willing to try anything within reason

but I’m irrationally annoyed that the website seems to offer a 3 for 2 offer but you can’t buy 1. What’s that about.

Redburnett · 30/10/2025 11:18

I am sceptical about anything that pops up as an ad on my FB, which this company has recently. There are plenty of cheaper options out there.

Indeed so am I. If something is that good then it doesn’t need to advertise on fb.
my fb feed is flooded with “hair loss treatments” and various supplements I suspect very few of which actually work

Treetops09 · 15/11/2025 17:33

I’m giving up. About 5 weeks in and I’m fed up with how liquid the shampoo is and how dry my hair looks. I should’ve read this thread before wasting my money.

Sambobby1 · 15/11/2025 18:09

I tried shampoo and conditioner. Didn't like it at all. Pump useless couldn't get the conditioner out of the bottle at all. Shampoo like water. Made my fine hair very knotty. However, as others have said customer service excellent and gave a refund.

CottageLoaf · 03/12/2025 20:53

I just bought some of this. I've had 2 goes so far. I really want to like it as I have menopausal hair and I hoped this would add some oomph, plus it smells gorgeous. After using it my hair looks awful - lanky and greasy! I was embarrassed to walk out the door on Monday morning but didn't have time to do anything about it! As soon as I start washing with it, it feels like I am adding a layer of oil. I cannot wash it out. I understand the lack of lather, but I don't understand the feeling of a sudden layer of thick oil. I shall persevere for a few more washes, but am not hopeful.

purser25 · 03/12/2025 21:19

I used it and liked it but really in all honesty didn’t make a huge difference to my hair considering the price.

Hey just seen this, over £20 for one bottle, but I've paid that for shampoo before (which dint work)...
