Black or Navy Investment Blazer?

I have the budget to buy one quality blazer, wool blend - can’t decide on the colour. Black seems more versatile but navy suits me more. Which one would you invest in?

The one that suits you best - in this case, Navy. I think Navy goes with a wider range of other colours, compared to black, as well.

But more to the point, if you're spending a lot of money (however much that actually is doesn't matter, it's a lot for you), you get the one that makes you happiest - which is the one that you like how you look the most when wearing it.

Navy. If that’s what suits you best, definitely Navy. I look dead in black which is unfortunate as my work uniform is all black!

I love all this blazer talk, long live blazers! I agree go with what looks great, I love black but bigger than my small v tailored ones of 10/15 years ago.

Out of interest, which brands are you looking at OP? I'm thinking of getting the same: I have a navy linen jacket for the summer - it's an old one from Jigsaw which is still going strong - but looking for an alternative which is a bit smarter.

I prefer navy too to suit my warm colour than black but I am aware navy blazers easily looks a bit school uniform. Navy is also hard to match with black shoes. Which are pretty ubiquitous for smart shoes.
i would skip on any investment pieces and use the money to buy various other office appropriate styles that suit you, and avoid the need for blazers.

Navy. I think it's way more versatile than black

Thank you, all. @stringbean It’s going to be a Jigsaw Brook due to bracelet length sleeve, I am short. I have a checked version already and it’s superb.

Thank you - Jigsaw does have some nice options: they'll have a 20% discount at some point in the season, so might be worth waiting for that Smile

Maybe invest a little more in your preference, but I wear both my navy and black jackets / blazers, so both are good additions to a wardrobe.

Any suggestions @YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME ? I'm trying to follow a strategy of buy less but better, but a bit clueless beyond the high street!
