Wedding guest dress for teen DD

Can anyone recommend any good brands for the above? DD is 19 and we will be attending a late spring wedding, just can’t find anything for her to wear though! Looking for a mini dress, relatively formal and not too flashy. Budget in and around £100 but can stretch if she finds something she really loves

So far we’ve looked at Ted Baker, Coast, Reiss etc but it’s just hard getting something to suit her that’s not too adult but not too young at the same time

Zara?

WhatWillIWear · 09/02/2024 17:37

Agree Zara is a possibility. But she could have a look at

Sister Jane for irresistibly pretty and celebratory clothes.

Realisation is rather over budget but they have good sales.

Another over budget but might be worth it:

Karolina Ozinsiute

Forgive me for being a little surprised at the way you’ve referred to your daughter in your title. 19 is an adult. She can surely wear anything wedding appropriate that she’s happy in?

Forgive me but I really don’t see what’s wrong with the title? I just said teen DD which she is?? Nowhere did I say that she’s not an adult, it’s just hard to find a dress that suits her age which is formal but not too formal. Most of the stuff we’ve seen in shops is stuff that I would wear (in my 40s), it wouldn’t really be suited to her. Anything geared towards teens/early 20s is very glitzy and flashy which she loves but not for a wedding. Just looking for a happy medium between the two. Of course she’s allowed to wear what she wants - I’m only asking for recommendations on her behalf. DD would never take fashion advice or let me shop for her in a million years! 😆

Many thanks for the recommendations though - she did see one she liked on Realisation the other night, on sale for £300 which could be a possibility. Just was hoping there might be something a little cheaper out there

Try Abercrombie and Fitch, Zara, H&M.

WhatWillIWear · 09/02/2024 18:26

Fair enough,,@MaloneMeadow !

But I’m guessing you mean Reformation perhaps? Realisation doesn’t have anything expensive enough to be reduced to £300.

Ganni might be worth a look too, though it’s variable.

4Bangles · 09/02/2024 18:26

Club L London for sure x

At her age, send her to the high street for a day. Monsoon, Top Shop, H&M - all will have perfectly lovely semi formal options for her age group.

Quiz?

What do you mean by ‘at her age’? Just because she’s young doesn’t mean we can’t splurge a bit on a fancy dress for a special occasion! Topshop doesn’t exist any more except for on ASOS (sadly) and H&M stuff falls to pieces within a wear or two

How about Anthropologie.

Oooh fab suggestion! She really loves Anthropologie, a bit experience for every day wear but it would be nice to treat her for this! I’ll get her to have a look x

Didn’t Topshop close down three years ago?

MaloneMeadow · 09/02/2024 21:11

Think we may have found an Anthropologie winner? Many thanks @newrubylane !
