Please help me with my thin and lifeless hair!

I am 40, and really feel that my hair has gone downhill over the last two years. I have never had the thickest hair, but it used to be pretty normal- I enjoyed wearing it down and long, and liked styling it before evenings out etc.

Since having covid, it is utterly crap. Thin, but also really flyaway, flat and prone to static. I wear it up in a clip 99% of the time now. I try and avoid any products that are too heavy or moisturising, as they will just weight it down.

I use redken volumising shampoo, and have also tried kerastase thickening shampoo. I don't feel either make a huge difference. I use a spritz of bumble & bumble thickening spray, but feel like this just makes it feel drier.

I really don't know what to do with it. I'm orhewise generally fit and healthy.

B&B does make it feel a bit dry, but it does add volume I find if I spray it on damp hair after washing it at night then it still holds it’s volume in the morning, it just isn’t so crispy.

Interesting you say it’s since covid, I’ve known people suddenly have low b12, vitamin D and/or Ferritin after having covid, all. Things that can affect hair.

Peri also really affects hair! I’ve found SLS & paraben free shampoo and conditioner are now leaving my hair looking thicker. I use Moo goo shampoo and sukrin conditioner. it’s take a couple of months but it looks a lot better.

I don't know if this will help but DS complained his hair felt thinner and he's only 18

He has dark thick hair with no early baldness running on either side of the family

So I've bought multivitamins with iron, cod liver oil capsules, jelly for the gelatin

He has short hair so is just rinsing it in the shower atm daily

He's upping his protein and varying his veg but we do eat healthily I guess he just needs more variety

My hair improved dramatically after I stopped smoking and then cut down considerably on alcohol which has also improved my skin

A good all round supplement is definitely worth trying

Highlights make my thin hair thicker (but obviously terrible for the hair)
