I had Invisalign and for my last trays was given Zoom white gel to whiten teeth! It was good.
I had to wear it over night for about 4 sessions. I had a little pain y each time .
That was a year ago.

However last week my husband ordered this ….. from USA in the 44% strength . I kept it in for 2 hours and my teeth are SO white ! I did have pain a few hours after !

This product is amazing and not expensive but hours need trays. My husband has trays made by the local dentist for £240.

44% is over two and a half times stronger than what a dentist is legally allowed to use.

Dental provided whitening is done over a few weeks to protect the tooth and nerve inside it . In fact if it's very resistant it may take a lot longer than this.

I am not surprised you had pain after two hours, in fact I will be surprised if you don't do permanent damage if you keep using it.

Do yourself a favour and put this dangerous, illegal stuff in the bin and if you have trays spend £20 buying a top up syringe from your dentist after a check up . It will be legal, safe and you will still have healthy teeth , nerves and gums . You have spent a lot of money having Invisalign , why on Earth risk your teeth with dangerous,illegal substances bought from criminals knowingly breaking the law?

@Lollygaggle as you seem to be knowledgeable, I've started using a purple toothpaste by colgate (I think) which does get rid of yellowing, although it claims temporarily. Do tou know if this something which might cause problems or is this safe?

Lollygaggle · 12/02/2024 14:23

Safe but useless. It's the same idea as ladies with grey hair using a purple rinse to disguise nicotine staining.
It will last as long until saliva washes it off. An expensive gimmick.

@Lollygaggle Potentially stupid question alert:

I have a dentist-built mouth guard (for grinding) that covers my upper teeth. Can I use dentist-supplied whitening gels with this?

Edited

No because this will be made to be tight against your teeth with no space for the gel. Whitening trays are made with a little reservoir to allow a match head amount of gel to stay against the tooth and a little dam to stop gel being squirted onto the gum.
