Are you familiar with Reiker shoes?

I'm trying to buy some new fashion trainers and 'Reiker' brand has appeared on my radar. I have fibromyalgia and so my feet hurt in some of the normal trainers or after I've been walking for a while. 'Gabor' has some fantastic ones that are so comfortable but dead pricey! i noticed the Reiker brand coming up and they look more affordable. I just wondered how they compare with Gabor? are they as soft? i bought what i thought was a nice pair of Levi's trainers recently and when i tried them on (ordered online) the soles were as hard as rock and had to return them. What type of brand would you say Reiker is ?

i presume the NB ones you don’t like are the 327 ones. They look much better on than off and are easily the most comfortable trainers I have ever worn. My dh agrees - he suffers from planter fasciitis and found the NB 327 was much easier to wear than other trainers.

Fibromyalgia sufferer here.. skechers are my favourite trainers.. l do have a pair of clarks too.

DuchessOfSausage · 08/02/2024 19:17

That's good to read @nicky2512 . Are they leather?

barkymcbark · 08/02/2024 19:27

I wear Reiker and Pavers trainers and find them really comfortable. I had an accident when I was younger and my knees are fucked so wearing comfy trainers is a must.

TheFoz · 08/02/2024 19:57

I have planter fasciitis and I find Rieker very comfortable.

@DuchessOfSausage flip I think they are but will have to dig the box out tomorrow and check! They saw me through the little bit of hot weather we had last summer!
I also have these ones that I wore so much I have actually bought a second pair the same.

It’s all I buy (apart from mustang).size up though.

DuchessOfSausage · 08/02/2024 20:31

@nicky2512 , that's a pretty good recommendation.

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 08/02/2024 21:53

I have planter fasciitis and finder reiker, remonte and brooks great.

All 3 brands also appear to last ages too.

JaceLancs · 08/02/2024 22:27

I’m not a big trainer wearer but have a pair of gold Rieker, black Skechers and white Stan smiths which fit all needs and are all very comfy

Mirabai · 09/02/2024 23:42

I have a rheumatic AI, I really rate Rieker for comfort. Also wear Gabor, Ara, Legero, Hoegl.

Thanks all for your continued comments. I'm reading all of them just haven't been able to reply each. I'm looking at all the recommendations trying to find the most comfortable whilst trying to avoid anything too frumpy, still want to look fashionable a hard balance to find sometimes.

I haven’t had their trainers but I buy the flat sandals for summer. Sadly a lot of their shoes are v ugly.

DuchessOfSausage · 10/02/2024 12:58

I would say a flat No to Stan Smiths. I hated mine.
I'd look at Hotter. Not particularly 'fashion' but comfortable.
Casual Trainers (hotter.com)

These caught my eye:
Chestnut | Bree Boots |Hotter UK
Edited to add the link.

I bought some Rieker ankle boots in Germany about 9 yrs ago, they were so comfy that when they eventually wore out I was able to get exact replacements on Amazon - Plantar Fasciitis sufferer. Second pair now also worn out and haven't been able to get a replacement as yet.

I’m the same as I like to look chic - so a lot of Rieker’s styles are out. But I have some trainers and open sandals and neither shout German comfort brand.
