Lash extensions have made my lashes short and stubby

So I had my extensions removed last week to find my lashes are now very short and sparse 😢

Im looking at uk lash to give them a boost. Anyone tried it and would recommend?

How long am I looking at before they are back to normal?

Also thinking that lvl might be the way to go although I will massively miss my lashes.

Re-vitalash.

I had the same as you (about 10 years ago) and the above was the only thing which worked.

It worked so well i've used it ever since! My lashes recovered, and then went past normal and into long and black which i've never had before.

It takes 6 weeks to work because it works on the lashes being 'born', if you like, and the hair cycle is 6 weeks long. Once you've got your long lashes you only have to put it one once a day IME.

Forget spending £££ on lash serums (any)
Just get the eye drops bimataprost... that's the active ingredient that is in all the lash serums, I've used it for 2 years, paint it on my lashes with a brush. I now have very long eyelashes and had no problems at all! I pay about £5/6 for a months supply! (Foreign online pharmacies)

I have just received my uk lash. I hope it works. Worth a try.

My lash tech asked if I’d like to rebook for some more extensions soon. I said I wasn’t sure as my lashes were so short and sparse now. She said that’s how they always were I’m just used to the extensions now. I’m not not sure that’s the case though as they are just so stumpy.

That happened to me too. I bought an expensive lash serum and it did absolutely nothing! But taking Biotin for a few months got them back to their former state of length and density. Unfortunately, lashes don't grow very quickly, you have to be a bit patient, but since realising what extensions did to my lashes I've ditched them completely.

Same has recently happened to me.
I'm two weeks into using UKlash serum and I put on magnetics ( the ones in a par not the liner) when I went out last night as I thought they would be the least damaging and they looked ok as I miss my extensions

Don't do this. You risk permanently changing the colour of your iris.

Non-prescription lash serums in the UK don’t contain Bimatoprost.

This happened to my lashes after I got extensions off so I never got extensions again. lashes eventually grew back and are now long and healthy again.... I wouldn't take the risk with serums as have heard about how some of them can change eye colour etc so I wouldn't risk it (I don't know enough about it to understand the risks so would just rather not risk it) :)

Oh really? I haven’t heard about it changing eye colour! I think I’ll use up my tube and then see. I’m so gutted. I loved my extensions. I guess it depends how long it takes my lashes to get back to normal as to whether I’d have them done again but I’m thinking I won’t. They really are short and stubby at the moment and I hate it.

Yes - I think it is something to do with an active ingredient in some of them. Can do some permanent damage I believe. But as I say I am not totally clued up on it -I just remember reading it somewhere and some real life experiences of it when I was considering using lash serum so I didn't want to risk it. I can't remember how long it took my lashes to grow back unaided as it was a few years ago now but I certainly don't recall it being so long I can remember it took ages IYKWIM. I know you feel so bare once they have been removed don't you! Best of luck :)

Take biotin and get a good LVL
Part of it is the shock of going from extensions to not having them too!

Mitherations · 08/02/2024 10:20

You know how when you first got the lashes put on you kept looking at them and thinking how long and lush they were and it was a bit of a shock?

The reverse just happened.
